Mrs. Minnie Lee Bowman

BOWMAN, Mrs. Minnie Lee - Age 84, answered her call from the Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Regency of Grand Blanc - Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Lewis Randolph, Host Pastor. Minister Marvin Pierce, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Bowman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday. Minnie was born on May 13, 1931 in Ridgeway South Carolina, the daughter of Katie and Jacob Belton. She was known as “Gran” to everyone including generations of neighborhood kids, family and friends. Minnie was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served on the Usher Board and the Choir. Minnie retired from Hurley Medical Center in 1981, where she held several positions during her time there. She was also an Avon representative for many years where she received numerous awards and achieved membership status in Avon’s President’s Club Honor Society, for her sales performance. Minnie enjoyed spending time with her family, going fishing, playing cards and “Going up the road” to the casino. On April 16, 1954, Minnie joined Thomas Bowman in Holy Matrimony; they remained married for 47 years ending with the death of Thomas on September 11, 2001. Minnie leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Linda Bowman of Chicago, IL and Brenda Hall (Charles) of Flint, MI; four grandchildren, Tasha Bowman of Flint, MI, Qionna Bowman (Earl) of Roseville MI, Angela Bowman and Charles T. Hall III “CJ”, both of Flint MI; eight great grandchildren, Antonio, Antwaun, Keith and Khali Franklin, all of Flint MI, Sydney, Sierra Bowman and Amber Shaw, all of Roseville MI, Zion Jones of Flint MI; three great-great grandchildren, Jacoby, A’laiyah and Amari Franklin, all of Flint MI; three sisters, Roxie Nash of Chicago IL, Daisy Boykins of Chicago IL, Jessie Belton (Alvin) of Flint MI; three brothers, Esau Belton (Gail) of Chicago IL, David Belton (Eloweese) of Flint MI, and Joe Belton of Chicago IL, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends including dedicated nephew, Richard Bowman (Elaine) of Columbiaville MI and faithful friend, Frankie March of Flint, MI. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bowman; granddaughter, Latoya Hall; great granddaughter, Amauri Jones; parents; brothers, Moses and Jacob Belton.
