MaGEE, Mr. Willie "Uncle Pete" - Age 56, affectionally known as "Uncle Pete," peacefully took his heavenly fight from his residence to reward on Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Family hour 10:30AM Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Antioch Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Rev. George Stapleton officiating. Rev. Lewis Randolph, Pastor. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Wednesday. Mr. MaGee now lies in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12noon-8PM Monday and 10AM-8PM Tuesday. Willie Lee MaGee was born May 28, 1950 in Magee, Mississippi, the son of Walter Lee, and Gertha (Lee) Magee, Sr. "Uncle Pete" later moved to Michigan in 1957, where he graduated from Beecher High School in 1969 with honors. Willie retired after 22 years of service from Buick, a division of General Motors, and was a member of UAW Local 599. "Uncle Pete" was humorous, stubborn and easy to love. Most importantly, he loved his family. The highlights of his day included harassing his niece, Whitney and tricking his great-niece, KayLynn into plugging up his bed after his caregiver left the room. "Uncle Pete" was full of life, love and laughter and gave so very much of himself to the people who came around him. He shall truly be missed. Mr. Willie Lee "Uncle Pete" MaGee leaves to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy: his children, Willie Lee MaGee, Jr., Torrey, Brandy and Brittany MaGee; Antione Junior, David Harris; 4 grandchildren, Kaneisha, KeMarion, KaNiya, Erica; 3 sisters, Charlene Jones, Rhonda (Anthony) Flourney all of Flint; MI, and Joyce Brewer of Jackson, MS; 2 brothers, Pastor George (Barbara) Stapleton of Flint, MI, Walter Lee MaGee, Jr. of Jackson, MS; a host of other relatives and friends including dedicated caregivers and best friends, Shaundeva McGhee, Dilisha Hunter, Mandy Banister, Robert Wiggins, Michael Chilton, Jr. and devoted friend, Lawanda Adams. Mr. MaGee was preceded in death by his parents. The family wishes to express a very special thank you to Dr. Melodie Knicely, Flushing Township Sheriff Department, Gracious Grace Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Lewis Randolph and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
