William Ulmer

ULMER, Mr. William H. - Age 55, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Marvin A. Jennings, Sr., officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Ulmer will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. Afterwhich, Mr. Ulmer will be taken to Brown Mortuary Inc., 902 Susie B. Ruffin Ave., Laurel, MS, 39440, (601) 426-3224. Mr. William Henry Ulmer was born April 28, 1955 in Heidelberg, Mississippi, William was the son of Mr. Rufus and Maggie (Lindsey) Ulmer. William accepted Christ at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Heidelberg MS. He graduated from Heidelberg High School, “Class of 1974”. After Graduation he moved to Flint, MI., and later became a member of Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church. William began working for General Motors in 1975 where he completed over 30 years of service. He was a member of the John W. Stevenson Lodge #56, serving as Worshipful Master in 2004. His hobbies included basketball, baseball, bowling, and tennis; Golf being his favorite. Mr. William H. Ulmer leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife: Shirley (Green) Ulmer; stepson, Anthony “Tony” Holliday, both of Flint; mother, Mrs. Maggie L. Ulmer of Heidelberg, MS; sisters, Ms. Mary Randle, Ms. Ada Ulmer, Ms. Mary J. Hodges, all of Flint, Ms. Lisa Finley of Bedford, TX and Ms. Glenda Ulmer of Houston, TX; brothers, Mr. Ransom (Mary) Ulmer of Cleveland OH and Mr. Anthony L. Ulmer of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Yvonne (William) Robinson of Grand Blanc, MI and Mrs. Deborah (Louis) Norris of Houston, TX; brothers-in-law, Mr. Sean Green of Flint and Mr. Charles Green Jr. of Houston, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends. Mr. Ulmer was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Rufus Ulmer; nephew, Mr. Tyrone D. Randle; grandparents, Mr. Ransom Sr. and Gertrude (Harrison) Ulmer, Mr. Henry and Mary Eliza (McMillan) Lindsey.
