BROADWAY, Mr. William V., Sr. - Age 89, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, January 27, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Wallace Hill III, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:30 AM Saturday. Mr. Broadway will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday. William V. Broadway Sr., was more affectionately known by family and friends simply as Bill, Mr. Bill, B.B., or Billy B. peacefully passed away on Friday,January 19, 2024, in Clio, MI.Bill was born on August 18, 1934, in Flint, MI to the late Senior and Lula (Williams) Broadway. Bill worked as a Supervisor and Skill Tradesman for General Motors for 47 years before retiring ~1999. He was an avid bowler that also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his forever Brother In-Law TJ Burton. They loved to reminisce about the good old times. His baby sister Joan, who he spoke with every day, to share stories and laugh.Every Memorial Day since his early 20s, he could be found cleaning up the family grave sites and placing beautiful flower arrangements for each member. This was a sibling tradition between him and his sister Otelia. He continued on until his health began to fail. Bill would always share a little family history with whoever was there with him. Bill and his devoted wife Sharon of 13 years shared many adventures, like on his 80th birthday they went ziplining in Mackinaw City, MI. This was one of many adventures. It was not on his bucket list. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed listening to good music, watching sports and being very sociable. He was in his element when he was embellishing his version of any story. When he finished, Sharon would say, now let me tell you what really happened. Bill lived his life to the fullest – quick to make others laugh with his sense of humor, treating others with kindness on every occasion, and always having a story to tell. In addition, to his parents, Mr. Broadway is preceded in death by his Son, (William) Van Broadway Jr., Daughter Sharon Stubbs, Grandson, Alexander D. H. Broadway, Brother In-Law TJ Burton and 7 Siblings.He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his life to his lovely Wife Sharon Lewis Broadway, Sister Joan G. Lewis, Son Michael D. Brooks Sr., Son Douglas Brooks, Daughter Jewell R. Farley, Daughter Barbara J. Henderson (Jeffery Jones), Son Tyree W. Broadway (Renita), Son Bryant Armstead and Daughter Natalie N. Broadway, Mother In-Law Lellor B. Lewis, Brothers In-Law Ocie Lewis Jr. (Lelia), Winfrey Lewis (Dorothy), Vincent Lewis and Steven Lewis (Sonya), Bonus-Daughters, Lateia Kelley (Leroy Garrett), Sheena Hicks (Aaron), 20 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Bill leaves behind numerous cherished, nephews, nieces, cousins, and great friends.If anyone or anything has been forgotten we sincerely apologize, please charge it to our heads and not our hearts during this difficult time.
