Mrs. Willa B. Bradley-Tillage

BRADLEY-TILLAGE, Mrs. Willa B. - Age 89, of Flint, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her family. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Canaan Baptist Church, 910 E. Gillespie St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Charles E. Roots officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Bradley-Tillage will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Wednesday with family present from 3-6 p.m. Mrs. Willa Bradley Tillage born Willa Bruce Washington September 21, 1925 in Northport, Alabama, she was the sixth child born to Joseph and Merdie Washington. Willa left Alabama in the late 1940’s to reside in Flint, Michigan. She was employed at AC Spark Plug Division on May 20, 1946, retiring after 45 years of serviced. Willa’s passion was cooking and she was affectionately known as the “Queen of Cooking.” She loved planting flowers and always had a beautiful garden. Willa was a longtime member of Canaan Baptist Church under Pastor Charles E. Roots direction. Willa loved her church family and missed attending when she became sick. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Glenda Coulter-Walker and her husband, Larry Walker; son, Alfred Bruce (Sherry) Bradley; niece, Stephanie (Eddie) Woods, Jr.; sister, Mrs. Pearle Weddington; 5 step children, Glenn, Karen, Annette, Sheila and Kevin; brother and sister-in-law, Lenn (Edith) Bradley; other sisters-in-law, Alma Parker, Ruth McGee, Jean Roberson and Tina Bradley; 16 grandchildren, Corey (Camille) Kaccye, Suni, Iria Lamar, Cherisse, Alexandria, Frances, Carlos, Erica, Dion, Micah (Gabby), Timoth, DeQuan, Kevin Jr., Kemicia, and Lequita; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, great great nieces and nephews and cousins; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Mrs. James Ola Hill ( her hairdresser of many years), Mrs. Katie Vaughn; god daughters, Ms. Sandra Moore and Linda Washington. Her life’s final farewell: Mrs. Bradley-Tillage was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. Tillage; father of her children, Alfred Bradley; daughter, Paula Gill; parents, Joseph and Merdie Washington; sisters, Susie, Mattie, and Frances; brothers, Booker T., Jesse Williams, Harold Scott, James Douglas and Hosie Washington.
