GILBERT, Ms. Wendie Latrice - Age 44, passed Friday, April 24, 2020 at her residence. Wendie Latrice Gilbert was born in Flint, Michigan, on June 16, 1975. She was a resident of Genesee County throughout her entire life. Wendie had a very strong belief in God and in God’s promise of the Earthly Resurrection, a hope that the Bible offers to all Mankind! Wendie received her education in Flint, Michigan and at the time of her death, she had been employed at the Fenton Road McDonalds for over 10 years. She was a dedicated employee who was appreciated for her dependability and hard work. Wendie may have worked hard, but she loved even harder as can be seen in the love she showered on her children. Nothing brought her more joy or captivated her heart quite like her beloved children. She expended herself tirelessly so that each of them understood just how important they were to her. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Wendie can easily agree that not only was she beautiful but she knew how to enhance that beauty with her signature red lipstick and colorful eyeshadow! But her physical beauty was only a fraction of what made her so unique! Her fiancé, Lucas Corridore, who according to Wendie was the love of her life, can testify to the content of her character! He saw the value she placed on her role as his future wife, as a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a friend and last but not least, a beloved daughter. Wendie was an amazing person, an inspiration to everyone who knew her...She was very lovely, she was caring, dainty and quite intelligent. She was a responsible woman who was courteous, sincere, kind, honest, a joy to behold! She was a peacemaker, she was patient, good-natured, good-hearted and mild tempered. She was faithful and always loyal to those she loved. She will always be remembered for her elegance and grace! These are just a few of the qualities that made her so endearing to those who knew her. But no one knew her or loved her quite like her beloved Mother! Wendie loved her some DB! She called her mother each, and every day. And day, after day, after day, they would talk as if they hadn’t spoken in years and had a lot of catching up to do! Sometimes they would talk about everything underneath the Sun and then on some days they would talk about absolutely nothing at all but nevertheless they would still talk... Clearly, no one has ever loved Wendie or will miss her more than the one who has cared for her the most! Her DB! Wendie Latrice Gilbert leaves to cherish her memory: 7 children, 2 daughters Kourtnie Gilbert and Jalaya Grigsby; 5 sons, Qwintrell Gilbert, Lajuane Grigsby, Sonny Grigsby, Jalen Grigsby and Nicholas Gilbert all of Flint; parents, Debra Griffis of Stone Mountain, GA and Charles Green California; granddaughter, Skyy Latrice Gilbert of Columbia, TN; grandson, Qwintrell Terrell Gilbert Jr.; sister, Jamie Griffis; 4 brothers, Corry Gilbert, all of Flint, Tyrone Gilbert of Glendale, AZ, Randy Gilbert, Terrance Griffis, both of Stone Mountain, GA; a host of nieces and nephews, Darius, Crystal, Corry Jr, Porsha, Maliek, Tyrone Jr, Randysha, Taylon, Rani and Rayna Gilbert, Mercedes, Lexus, Jawan and Justice Griffis, China, Roswan Jr, Ali and Aaliyah Brewster, Rachel and Robin Meeks, Marcaous Hart, Marquis Simmons, Jayla McCallister, Isan Francis, Collin, McKeigan and Kierstyn Bully, Jamil Griggs; aunts and uncles, Travis Gilbert, Arthur Gilbert, Gary Gilbert, Steve Gilbert, Jerry and Deborah Gilbert, Stanley and Jacqueline Gilbert, Homer Knapp, Wanda and Barry Kerns, Vanita and Albert Maze, Karen and Jerry Muex; a host of cousins and friends. Wendie was preceded in death by her step-father, James Griffis; grandmother, Clara Ampy; grandfather, Steve Gilbert Sr; aunts and uncles, Ca Private Services have already taken place.
