REAVES, Mrs. Vicky Lynn - Age 67, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, June 9, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Monday, June 9, 2025. Mrs. Reaves will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Mrs. Vicky Lynn Reaves was born September 15, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Charles B. and Essie E. Reaves. Vicky was dedicated to Christ at an early age. She attended Martin Elementary, then Holmes Jr. High and then off to Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1975” where she graduated with honors. Vicky attended the University of Michigan-Flint where she majored in the Veterinarian field. She worked at Flint Truck & Bus, a division of General Motors Corporation. Vicky was united in marriage to Harold Alford in 1978. She loved sports; especially basketball, fishing, art, crafting and enjoying the outdoors. Vicky also loved raising pets especially dogs, but also fish, snakes and a spider. She was very loving, family oriented, caring and giving individual. Mrs. Vicky Lynn Reaves leaves to cherish her memory: a mother of one, but raised 2 daughters, Marque Alford and Timikia Alford (Suttle); 3 grandchildren, Tah-Jai Alford, Jada Alford and Keonta Jones; 2 great-grandchildren, I’Lynn Alford and Lynnox Alford, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Saundra Roberts of Canton, MI and Cashyra Stewart of Mesa, AZ; brother, Keith (Tekilla) Reaves of Flint; 3 nieces, Porsche Jackson (Washington), Raquel Reaves and McKenzie Greene; 4 nephews, Byron Roberts (Marnise), Tony Burks (Kristin), Ramone Reaves and Cannon Walker; a host great-nieces and nephews; a host of cousins including special cousins, Blake Reaves and Joya Reaves-Embry; former husband, Harold Alford of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Diana McKay of Davison, MI, Phyllis Jenkins and Tina Moreland, both of Flint. Mrs. Reaves was preceded in death by her parents, Charles B. “C.B.” and Essie E. Reaves; grandparents, John and Annie Reaves, James Brooks and Mattie Brooks; nieces, Shyra Reaves; and nephew, Dani Dooley. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center ICU and Respiratory Team.
