Mrs. Valarie Lynn Britt

BRITT, Valarie Lynn -Age 63, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at McLaren Flint. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 W Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Britt will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Valarie Lynn Epps-Britt was born May 20, 1952 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Horace and Betty Epps, and the granddaughter of Thelma Kendricks. She accepted Christ into her life at a young age, growing up as a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Valarie grew spiritually and fellowshipped with New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. She attended Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Northern High School “Class of 1970”. After graduation Valarie was employed with Delphi, a division of General Motors retiring in 2006 after 30 years of service. Once she retired, Valarie devoted her time to Missionary work; Macedonia Evangelistic Team, Carriage Town Ministries, Prayer Chain and was a faithful supporter of the local women's shelter, standing on the Word of God Ministry, just to name a few. Valarie lived for God and her children. She spent her free time shopping for wigs, shoes, and just shopping, and she loved listening to music. Mrs. Valarie Lynn Epps-Britt leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted children, Ms. Nemecia “Nikki” Bush of Flint and Kenya Sadat (De’Shune) Bush of Jacksonville, FL; god-daughter, Shalawanda Johnson of Columbus, MS; 5 grandchildren, Tatiana (Santana) Hill of Lithonia, GA, Ms. Taelor Clark of Flint, Ms. Bryanna Bush of Pensacola, FL, Chase Lundy and Kyson Bush, both of Jacksonville, FL; 2 great-grandchildren, Santana and Bishop Hill of Lithonia, GA; aunt, Dora Hairston of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Gwendolyn Hicks, Linda Chilton, Linda Steele, Sheronda Major and the Stroy family. Mrs. Epps-Britt was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Horace and Betty Epps and grandmother, Thelma Kendricks. The family would like to express special thanks to Monica Holmes and Shawna Sims.
