BEAN, Ms. Tonya - Age 49, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Ascension - Genesys. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Patrick Sanders II, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Saturday. Ms. Bean will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday, May 10, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Tonya Bean was born July 11,1974 in Flint, MI. The daughter of Joe Felton and Ella Sue Bean. Tonya graduated from Flint Northern High School; Class of 1993. Tonya gave her life to Christ at an early age, former member of Ebenezer Ministries Baptist Church. Tonya spent her earlier years working at Delphi doing security and as a medical receptionist at the Genesee County Free Medical Clinic. Tonya loved spending time with her family especially her great nieces and nephews, cooking, loved watching and sending videos on youtube and Tik Tok, low key a foodie, loved Prince, talking on the phone, and going to concerts. Tonya Bean leaves to cherish her precious memory: her daughter, Kodi Bean; brothers, Joe Bean and Marcus Bean, all of Grand Blanc, MI; She was the “Tyty” to Ashley (DeQuindre) Bean of Flint, DaShunna Bean of Grand Blanc, Markita Bean, La’Diva Hollins; nephews, Edward Long, and Coriell Branch, all of Flint, Milaya, Nasir, Lyla, Chance, Baby Dallas, Cordai, KaNyiah, La’Trelle, E’Layah, and E’Nnyjah; aunts, Schantel Anderson, Betty Thomas and Jackie Edwards, all of Grand Blanc, MI, Mary Bean of Kirbyville, TX, and Ruby Southward of Tishimingo, MS; uncles, Taft (Gwen) Bean of Flint Twp, MI and Edward (Theresa) Bean; god- mother, Linda Burns; special friends including, Mia Barnett, Sonji Raney Murphy, Angela Sutton, Joy Anderson, Shanda Anderson, Marie Deans, Karolyn Huddleston, Lamont Washington, James Cook, Doris Matthews and family, Arthur Paige and family, and a host of other family and friends. Tonya was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Felton and Ella Sue Bean; grandparents, Alex and Adell Bean, Dee Ellis and Flossie Mae Anderson; nephew, Dominique Long; and grandpup, Nyla.
