FINNEY, Ms. Tia - Age 26, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM, Eld. Thomas Glenn officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Tuesday. Ms. Finney will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Ms. Tia Tylette Finney was born May 28, 1983 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Odie and Arlene Grayer. Tia was a resident of Flint her entire life and attended Pasadena Church of God. She also attended Flint Public Schools. Tia graduated from the Flint Strive Program. She was employed at several different restaurants. Tia was a very special loving person who loved everyone especially her family and friends. She truly adored children, especially her nephew, Idris, Jr. Tia loved dancing and spending time with her friends. Her special gift was always to say, I love you to everyone. Ms. Tia Tylette Finney leaves to cherish her memory: parents: Mr. & Mrs. Odie and Arlene Grayer; sister, Sonya Grayer, all of Flint; 3 brothers, Idris Finney, Sr. of Flint, Calvin (Marie) Grayer and Akeen (Lasasha) Grayer, all of Indiana; nieces, Mareeka Grayer, of Indiana, Shalonda Grayer, Sharmane Scruggs, La’Tia Finney; great-niece, Iyonna Grayer, all of Flint; nephews, Dequantrum Grayer, Idris Finney, Jr. and Malik Finney, all of Flint and Akeen Grayer, Jr. of Indiana; 8 aunts, Mary (John) Lawston, Val (Otis) Snell, Hattie (James) Young, Rosa, Anita and Denita Finney, Cynthia Howell, all of Flint; 2 great-aunts, JoAnn McCloud of Flint and Sara Nichols of CA; 2 uncles, Clisson Finney of Flint and Sam Finney of Germany; a host of cousins, including special cousins, Charelle and Michelle Finney, both of Flint and Shanta Grayer of Mississippi; goddaughters, Shantara and Quresia Spicer; god sister, Tasha Arnold; godmother, Rhonda Brackett; godfather, James “Be-Bop” Brown special friends, Shamicka Johnson, Duane Tabb, Jerry Brackett, Sr.; a host of other relatives and friends. Ms. Finney was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sederia and Earl Grayer, Shirley Finney and Sam Williams; great-grandmother, Ella Finney; 6 aunts and 1 uncle.
