Bransford, Mrs. Theresa - Age 68, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, in Wyoming, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor James Bowie, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2025. Mrs. Bransford will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. Public visitation will be during family hour only. Theresa Bransford was born on December 16, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of James M. Gill and Orlaver (Cannon) Gill. Theresa graduated from Southwestern High School, Class of 1974. She was a lover of people, making lifelong friends. Theresa loved family gatherings, where she would prepare her signature Swedish meatballs and peach cobblers. She was a business owner (Cakes by T), and her heart was always full of laughter. Theresa was always available for her family. If she could do it, she was there! During her 38-year career at Meijer, she witnessed the store's evolution. She often shared stories of her encounters with customers and owners, including Fred Meijer himself. Theresa was an all-around sports fan, but the Detroit Pistons were her favorite; she loved all the Bad Boys! If you were around her during basketball season, you would get excited watching her root for the team! Theresa, the youngest of eleven children, grew up at New Covenant Church of God in Christ (COGIC) where she served in the choir, holding the position of a soprano and soloist. She was the family songbird; she and her sisters, Shirley and Diana, often sang together. Theresa always had a song in her heart, especially for her loved ones on their birthday. In 1984, she met Gilbert Lewis Bransford Jr., together, they shared two sons, Gilbert L. Bransford III and Destin DeLeonce’ James Bransford, of whom she was very proud and often referred to as her heartbeats. Theresa recently moved to Grand Rapids, where her niece, Bertina, took excellent care of her until her transition. Theresa Bransford leaves to cherish her sweet memory, two sons, Gilbert L. (Lauren) Bransford III, Destin D. James Bransford; three sisters, Ethel Strange of Flint, MI, Shirley (Timothy) Gibson of Burton, MI, Diana Gill, Grand Rapids; two brothers, Perry (Loretta) Gill, Mt. Morris, MI, and Edward Gill; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, James M. & Orlaver (Cannon) Gill; sister, Johnnie Mae Frye; brothers, Samuel Lindsey Shaw, James M. Gill Jr., Eugene Gill, David Gill, and Lindsey Gill; grandparents, Perry & Ethel (Leitner) Gill. ho showed love to our loved one.
