Theora Shackleford

SHACKLEFORD, Mrs. Theora - Age 92, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. George Dunnigan, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Shackleford will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Sis. Theora Shackleford was born September 10, 1919 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Mr. Andrew and Mrs. Willie Willingham and had been a resident of Flint for the past 64 years. Sis. Shackleford was united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served faithfully in the former Melody Choir, the former Community Gospel Travelers, The Inspirational Voices of Macedonia, Sunday School Class #4 and The Wednesday Morning Bible Study Class. Sis. Shackleford leaves to cherish her memory: devoted son, Artis (Willie) Shackleford of Mt. Morris, MI; 9 grandchildren including, Theresa (Reynold) Swilley of Mt. Morris, MI, Rachel Shackleford of Flint, Tonya (Earl) Gibbs of Grand Blanc, MI and Marcia Shackleford of Flint whom she raised; 27 great grandchildren including, Keyon (Agness) Shackleford of Flint; 14 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Gladys Wang of Las Vegas, NV and Alma Shackleford of Mt. Pleasant, MI; special niece, Velma Elridge of Mt. Morris, MI; special cousin, Versa Berry; goddaughter, Jackie Fielder; special friend, Inez Bradley, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and dear friends. Sis. Shackleford was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Lenon Shackleford; daughter, Rosetta Shackleford; grandson, Darren Mance; father, Andrew Willingham; mother, Willie Willingham; sister, Allie B. Lever; and brother, William Willingham. The family would like to express a special thanks to care givers, Rachel Shackelford and her children, Marcia Shackleford; nurse-aide Theresa of AZ Home Health Care and the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church family.
