Ms. Sybil Ilene Dunigan

DUNIGAN, Ms. Sybil Ilene - Age 52, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM, Monday, November 30, 2020 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Bishop Neal Roberson, officiating. Family and Friends will assemble in the Chapel 10:00 AM Monday. Ms. Dunigan will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed Monday at 8:00 AM until the time of service. Ms. Sybil Ilene Dunigan affectionately known as “Syl”, received her Heavenly wings from this life on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. She was born in Flint, Michigan at Hurley Medical Center, on January 16, 1968, the daughter of Elder George “Tony” Dunigan, Jr. and Barbara Ann Hill-Dunigan. Sybil attended the Flint Public school system, graduating and obtaining her high school diploma in 1986 from Flint Northwestern. She pursued her career in the medical field and became a Certified Nursing Assistant until her illness no longer permitted her to perform her duties. Sybil accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was baptized and was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, until 2018 at which time she moved her membership to Church of the Harvest International Flint. During her walk with Christ she faithfully attended Sunday school, sang in the Youth and Young Adult choirs while attending Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Her favorite song was ‘The Day Is Past And Gone.’ In her spare time Sybil loved reading and watching television about history and listening to music. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Ontario Dunigan; father, Elder George “Tony” Dunigan, Jr.; sister, Elder Shawn Marie Dunigan; maternal aunt, Priscilla (Jerome) Robinson and special cousin, Mrs. Denise Moore. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her including a host of cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Ann Hill-Dunigan, maternal and paternal grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, and several other family members. The family would like to express special thanks to her Pastor, Bishop Neal Roberson, Church of the Harvest International Flint family, Pastor Samuel Berry, the Macedonia Baptist Church family, including the 6 am prayer line, Montoya Curry-Smith, and Hurley Medical Center.
