LAWLER, Mrs. Shirley D. - age 72, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Min. Bernard Lawler officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Lawler will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday. Ms. Shirley Dean (McIntyre) Lawler also known as “Gram Gram”, was born August 24, 1941 in Flint, MI. She was the daughter of the late James C. McIntyre and Viola (Williams) McIntyre. At the age of 72, Shirley was peacefully laid to rest at her residence. At an early age, she was baptized and accepted Jesus as her savior. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1959 and was later married to Charles Lawler in January of 1965 for 37 years. Shirley retired from Genesys (FOH) Hospital after 30 years of service as an Administrative Assistant. Shirley was full of life and loved everyone she encountered showering them with warm embraces, hugs, and kisses. She touched those around her with her beautiful, honest spirit and contagious smile. She often gave words of wisdom to all the people she loved sharing stories of past experiences. Shirley enjoyed attending plays, blues concerts, and getting her daily dose of drama while watching her favorite television soaps. Shirley had a very creative mind and unique taste in arts and crafts. Holiday’s were extra special in Shirley’s home filled with decorations, food, candy, love, and laughter. After retirement Shirley enjoyed sewing and going to the gym in her leisure time. She took pleasure in spending quality time with her family and loved all of her grandchildren. Ms. Shirley Dean Lawler leaves to cherish her memory: husband and best friend, Charles Lawler; daughter, Evangela D. Lawler; son, Charles D. (Melissa) Lawler Sr., all both of Flint; daughter-in-law, Thelma Watson of Albion, MI; grandchildren, Charles D. Lawler Jr. of Albion, MI, Jasmine Y. Lawler, Adrien T. Lawler, TaShawndra D. Lawler, Anthony D. Lawler, Samiah I. Lawler, Cordaro D. Busha, TJ Busha, and Aunyai B. Busha; great-grandchildren, Le’Relle M. Williams, Ja’Myiah M. Williams, Ja’Nyiah M. Williams Jae’Dah M. Williams, Jae’Yonne M. Williams, all of Flint; sister, Bernice McIntyre-Hall of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Franklin Davis; 2 sisters- in-law, Virgella Duncan, both of Flint and Lutisha McGhee of Albion, MI; 3 brothers- in-law, Bishop Elijah Lawler, John D. (Henrietta) Lawler, all of Talladega, AL and Walter (Bobby Ruth) Lawler of Flint. Ms. Lawler was preceded in death by her daughter, Charlen Lawler; son, Sebastian (James) L. Watson; parents, James C. and Viola D. McIntyre; sister, Delories McIntyre. The family would like to express special thanks to Lawrence E.
