Mrs. Savola "Sue" Jane Mills

MILLS, Mrs. Savola "Sue" Jane - age 95, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 in Smyrna, Delaware. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Pastor Troy J. Lee officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Mills will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed Saturday from 9 a.m. until service. Savola “Sue” Jane Mills was born on February 4, 1919 in Ashland, MS to the late Willie Franklin and Ethel Reaves Mitchell. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the age of 95. She was married to the late George Mills. Savola had one son Cottrell Eugene Yarbrough, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Mills worked for Fisher Body, a division of General Motors for over 30 years. She was a longtime member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Hospitality, Administration, and Finance ministries. Mrs. Mills leaves to cherish her precious memories: beloved daughter (ex-daughter-in-law), Onidas “Annette” Moore; 2 granddaughters, Yolanda Yarbrough of Smyrna, DE and Melinda Yarbrough of El Paso, TX; 2 great-grandsons, Mario (Nekia) Yarbrough of Smyrna, DE and Leland Yarbrough Cotton of Bowling Green, KY; great-great grandson, Mario Yarbrough II; 3 sisters, Darlie Bowie of Detroit, MI, Barbara Steele of Moorpark, CA, and Blanche Boler of Stockton, CA; beloved brother, Eldridge "Pete" (Sybil) Mitchell of Memphis, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by: husband, George Mills; son, Cottrell Eugene Yarbrough; parents, Willie Franklin and Ethel Reaves Mitchell; sister, Lola Mitchell, of Flint, MI.; and 3 brothers, the late Willie Mitchell, who was a legendary producer, musician and songwriter, along with the late James Mitchell, who was a world-renowned saxophonist, along with her brother Charlie Mitchell Sr. all of Memphis, TN.
