Mr. Ryan Lindsey Baker

BAKER, Mr. Ryan Lindsey - Age 35, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Jackson Memorial COGIC, 3155 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Bishop H. J. Williams Host Pastor, Pastor Lawrence Washington, Sr. officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Baker will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday. Mr. Ryan Lindsay Baker was born April 18, 1979 in Flint, Michigan, to Charles (Laurie) and Irma (White) Baker. He graduated from Beecher High School, class of 1997. Ryan was extremely gifted, anointed, passionate, and charismatic. These characteristics followed him throughout his life. He was very active in high school, where he took pride as the senior class president, a peer educator, and spoke at various community events. While attending Eastern Michigan University, pursuing a Fine Arts degree, Ryan became an awe-inspiring member of EMU Gospel Choir, where he impacted so many with his gifts. He was also one of the founding members of Dancers of David, which is still impacting students’ lives on campus fifteen years later. Ryan’s love for God and gift of dance catapulted his ministry to higher heights and deeper depths! He worked with a wide range of artists such as: Tyler Perry, David Gough, Kirk Franklin, Omarion, Canton Jones, The Clark Sisters,Kierra Sheard and Rance Allen; just to name a few. Ryan was currently a co-manager for Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole and was very instrumental in her music career. Ryan had a way of making everyone that he came in contact with feel special with his magnetic personality and infectious smile. He was always seeking to help others by encouraging them, helping to cultivate their gifts, or making them a part of his many creative ideas and projects. Ryan grew up attending The Church of God, on Kent Street and, while in college, he became a member of El Shaddai Minstries where he was baptized, both of Flint, MI. Upon moving to Atlanta, GA, he joined Impact Worship Center under Pastor and First Lady Arthur Jones, where he was a very active member. Ryan was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Walter and Lizzie Baker; Uncles, Phillip Abron, Jerry Townsend, and Walter Baker; Aunts, Nettie Baker, Maggie Baker, and Rosemary Lee.
