Mr. Roy C. Keahey

KEAHEY, Mr. Roy C. - age 66, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at Grand Blanc Rehabilitation and Nursing Center-Grand Blanc Twp., MI. Family hour 10:30am Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Canaan Baptist Church, 910 E. Gillespie St., with funeral service at 11am. Pastor Charles E. Roots officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30am Wednesday. Mr. Keahey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12noon-8pm Tuesday. Mr. Roy C. Keahey was born December 20, 1947 in Laurel, Mississippi, the son of Roy S. Keahey and the late Freda Keahey. Mr. Keahey was a longtime resident of Flint, Michigan and a 1967 graduate of Flint Northwestern High. Roy accepted Christ at an early age and solidified his faith with baptism. He retired from AC Spark Plug, a division of General Motors, in 1996. Roy enjoyed fishing, dancing and cooking; his specialty was tacos. Roy fought a good fight, but on June, 27, 2014 the Lord saw fit to call him home from labor to reward. Mr. Roy C. Keahey leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Rosemary Keahey of Flint; 2 sons, Daryl (Tarnisiah) Keahey of Burton, MI and Roy (Crystalee) Keahey of Saginaw, MI; 4 grandchildren, QuaSharee, Qayveon, Roy III, and Jordan; great-grandchild, Darrell Jr.; father, Roy S. Keahey; sister, Carolyn (Oscar) Snyder; 2 nieces, Ashley and Tyeshia; 2 nephews, Rolande and Richard; 6 aunts, Mattie, Gracie, Vera, Macey, Lucibe, and Mary; 2 uncles, Jerry and Dan; 3 sisters-in-law, Clara, Elizabeth and Anita Jamison; 2 brothers- in-law, Earl and Bobby Jamison; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Eddie McGhee, Jesse Kirksey and Keith Sweeney. Mr. Roy C. Keahey was preceded in death by: his mother, Freda Keahey; niece, Maleeka Byrd; 2 aunts, Bernice Burnette and Mattie Frederick; 3 uncles, Leman Evans, Earnest and O.C. Keahey; 3 cousins, Dorothy Evans, Stanley and Clyde Burnette; and brother-in-law, James Jamison. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Grand Blanc Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Doris Gray, Pastor Charles E. Roots and the entire Canaan Church family.
