Mrs. Roslynn Marie Goodrum-Banks

GOODRUM-BANKS, Mrs. Roslynn Marie - Age 67, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center. Private services will be taking place. Mrs. Roslynn Marie Goodrum-Banks was born on January 24, 1958, in Flint, Michigan to the late Ivory Cornelius Goodrum Sr. and the late Gloria Dolores Palmer Goodrum. Roslynn, affectionately known as “Roz” by family and her closest friends, accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted Christian servant. Roslynn’s final church home was True Light M.B. Church where she served on the Usher Board, while she maintained her relationship with her Vernon Chapel AME Church family through her service on the Bell Choir. Roslynn was a product of the Flint Community Schools graduating from Northwestern High, “School Class of 1976,” and was on the swim team. Roslynn earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan – Flint and an MBA from Baker College. Roslynn retired from Buick, a division of General Motors (GM), after 24 years of service as an Electrician, receiving her journeyperson credentials by attending Mott Community College as part of GM’s Skilled Trades Program. Roslynn enjoyed walking, dancing, cooking, gardening, reading, and collecting black angel figurines. Her peanut butter and oatmeal raisin cookies were spectacular, as were her summer potted flower arrangements. Roslynn was pristine in the care of her home, both inside and outside. The vacuum lines for carpet care, the lawnmower lines for lawncare, and the trimming of the bushes had to be done “just right.” Her large, seasonal floor rug collection, front door wreaths, and extravagant Christmas decor were emblematic of her commitment to providing a loving home environment. Roslynn was an avid walker, and she routinely participated in annual charitable events as an individual and team walker. Roslynn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. She loved spending time with family and watching sports of all kinds. Her collection of sport clothing showed she was an avid fan. Roslynn had a kind and giving spirit, was good-humored, and her beautiful smile and laughter were contagious. Roslynn, age 67, made her transition on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center, ICU. Roslynn Marie Goodrum-Banks will be forever cherished in the memories of her loving and devoted husband of 29 years, Bobby L. Banks, Jr.; sons, Dion (Tiffani) Deshone-Goodrum Brown, Sr. of Flint, MI, T’Challa (Tonya) Banks of Flint, MI, and Tarnell (Amber) Banks of Phoenix, AR; daughters, Dionna J. Goodrum-Brown of Oak Park, MI, T’Nika (Marzell) Hall of Mesa, AR; sisters, Cheryl A. Short of Saginaw, MI, and Danon (Dean) Goodrum-Garland of Grand Blanc, MI; mother-in-law, Juanita Banks-Rutherford of Flint, MI; sisters-in-laws, Belinda A. Banks of Phoenix, AR, Redonna L. Banks of Grand, Blanc, MI, Cheryl Adkins, of Flint, MI, and Heather Williams of Plano, TX; grandsons, Raekwon G. Henderson, Dion Deshone-Goodrum Brown, Jr., and Dionte I. Brown, of Flint, MI, DeCorian Banks, Muntrell Banks, and Daniel Hall of Mesa, AR, Hamin Chambers of Kansas City, KS, Tarnell (Gabrielle) Banks Jr. and Tahj Banks of Phoenix, AR; granddaughters, Rae’Onna M. Henderson-Brown, of Flint, MI, Olivia M. Roslynn was preceded in death by her parents, Ivory Cornelius Goodrum Sr. and Gloria Delores Palmer Goodrum; paternal and maternal grandparents; brothers, Ivory Cornelius Goodrum Jr. and Willie Earl Goodrum; brother-in-law, Charlie Short; and sister-in-law, Debra J.
