REEVES, Mr. Robert - Age 73, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 due to colon cancer. Family hour 10AM Friday, June 26, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM, Pastor Juanita Crump officiating. Interment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, G-2020 E. Hill Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Friday. Mr. Reeves will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mr. Robert Reeves was born September 4, 1935 in Jefferson, Arkansas, the son of John Sr. and Rosie (Robinson) Reeves. Robert worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed playing cards, growing vegetables, hunting, fishing, and traveling. Robert was known as “Bob” by many of his friends. As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he worked diligently to meet the needs of his family and was there for them in everyway. Robert lived life to the fullest extent possible and enjoyed having family gatherings especially those involving the grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Cynthia of 19 years, whom he loved dearly; 6 children, First Sergeant (Ret.) Rita Reeves of Ewa Beach, HI, Felicia Nunn of Grand Blanc, MI, Sandy Westbrook of Detroit, MI, Troy Reeves, Sr. of Madison, WI, Min. Cindy (Joseph) Humphrey of Flint and Jermaine Westbrook of Ypsilanti, MI; 7 grandchildren, Debera Reeves of San Antonio, TX, Kevin Reeves, Troy Reeves, Jr., both of Madison, WI, DeVante` Nunn of Grand Blanc, MI, Juwan Russell, Cameron Patterson, and Jaylen Westbrook, all of Flint; great-grandson, Colin Patton of Sun Prairie, WI; great-niece, whom he raised, Alexis Clemons; 3 sisters, Myrtle Reeves and Alice Warren, both of Pine Bluff, AR and Ida Ridgle of College Station, AR; brother, Moses “Rabbit” (Maxine) Hayes of Jefferson, AR; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his parents; and other siblings. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. J. Danish, Dr. E. Saeed, Dr. S. Dismond, Hurley Medical Center, Brian’s House, Five-Fold Ministries and Sam Gatson at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery.
