Mr. Robert Lee Neal

NEAL, Mr. Robert - Age 75 , passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 8:00 AM Saturday, January 9, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 8:30 AM. Interment Flint Memorial Park , G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Mt. Morris MI. Mr. Neal will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Robert Lee Neal was born to Rufus and Erma Neal August 24, 1945 in Charleston Missouri. He was the youngest of four children. Robert moved from Charleston to Elgin, Illinois and then to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He took some college courses and a few years later relocated to Flint Michigan and became a Skilled Trade Welder at General Motors where he retired after 32 years. Robert was married to the love of his life, Margie Phinisee-Neal. He would always look at her and say “Look at her! Ain’t she pretty.” They were together for 35 years. Margie was by his side throughout his illness. She kept her vow, “in sickness and health, until death do us part”. Robert loved his family. Robert loved gardening, fishing, cooking and loved taking pictures. He was a great cook! He also had a love for cars. Robert was a giver and a lover of people. No one was a stranger to him. He was friendly to everyone. Robert gave his life to Christ in August of 2020 and departed this life December 31, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rufus and Erma Neal; brother, Charles “Bubba” Neal; nephew, Curtis “Big Daddy” Neal; and sister, Lorraine “Aunt Pete” Whitney. Robert Lee Neal leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife, Margie Phinisee-Neal; sister, Ruthie Lee (Shane) Neal; children, Jennifer Hatchet, (Belvedere IL), Paris Spates (Pennsauken, NJ), Tammy Neal (Washington DC), Deliah Lenton (Orlando, Fl), Tiona Phinisee-Neal, Latoya Phinisee (Reon) Carter, Shantae (David) Brown, Erica Neal, and Elizabeth Neal all of Flint, Michigan; 14 grandchildren (special recognition of his three grandsons who was always by his side) La’Darius, Dallas and Reon Jr.; 3 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends including best friends, Jack, Jerry, Art, Bernard and Hazel Wilson. Special recognition to Dr. Perez, McLaren Hospital and Fresenius Dialysis. Robert was loved by many.
