MONTGOMERY, Mr. Robert "Wayne" - Age 58, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 11AM Friday, January 20, 2006 at Family Worship Center, 3162 Flushing Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon. Pastor Timothy Stokes, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at th church 11AM Friday. Mr. Montgomery will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mr. Robert Montgomery was born on February 27, 1947 in Almont, Michigan, to the union of Robert Wordie & Tommie Lee Montgomery. Wayne attended Flint Public Schools and enlisted in the Marine Core shortly after high school, serving in Vietnam. He was employed by General Motors Corporation, working at Fisher Body #1, and the Flint Engine North Plant until his passing. Wayne was a member of Local 659 and a former member of Local 598. He had a passion for attending Family Worship Center Church and loved his cell group and church family. He devoted himself to his family members whom he loved deeply. Wayne truly enjoyed boxing, martial arts, and playing dominos. He passionately loved his dog "Lady." His generosity and laughter will be engraved in the memories of those who knew and loved him. Wayne was truly one of a kind. Mr. Robert "Wayne" Montgomery leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife, Stephanie Montgomery; daughter, Tomika Persinger; stepdaughter, Tamasha (Rodney) Jones; 2 grandchildren; mother, Tommie Straham; stepfather, Billy (Lenora) Straham; brother, Charles (Beulah) Montgomery; 4 sisters, Pam (Greg) Gaines, Jennifer Montgomery,and Gianna Lewis, all of Flint, and Gina Taylor of Farmington Hills, MI; 4 stepsisters, Khris Johnson of South Haven, MS, and Kimberly (Mitchell) Teamer of Ypsilanti, MI; 3 nephews; 3 nieces; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Tommie Simmons, John Patton, Huie Langston, Fred Bashir and Beatrice Holmes. Mr. Robert Wayne Montgomery was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wordie Montgomery; son, Michael Montgomery; uncles, John and Charles Montgomery; grandmother, Mary Montgomery. The family would like to express special thanks to Sam, the 3rd shift nurse in ICU at McLaren Regional Medical Center, Family worship Center Church, Ebenezer Ministry, Christian Life Learning Center and First Trinity Baptist Church.
