MANNING, Mr. Robert Earl II - Age 41, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Houston, TX. Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Rabon Turner, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Tuesday. Mr. Manning will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Robert Earl Manning II was born October 13, 1980 in Flint, Michigan; the son of Janice and Robert Manning. At age 9, Robert accepted Christ and was baptized becoming a member of Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was a member of the Youth Usher Board under the tutelage and guidance of Sis. Annie Wilson. Robert matriculated through the Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Northern High School, Class of 1999. He continued to be an active member and participant with the c/o ’99. After high school, Robert attended Hampton University, ultimately receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree from Grand Valley State University in 2004. After graduating college, Robert relocated to Houston, TX. While residing in Houston, Robert held various positions working as an offshore man, in construction and culinary services. He took pride in volunteering and mentoring youth. Robert has always loved playing and watching sports especially football, basketball and track & field. Robert loved the tradition of attending the NCAA Final Four playoffs with his Dad, uncles and cousin Punkin often to the delight of the women present. He enjoyed watching crime shows like, First 48 and True Crime reruns. Robert also enjoyed watching classic Black sitcoms and his favorites were Sanford and Son and Amen. Robert dearly loved his family and was often the life of family gatherings. If you were having a dull moment, it didn’t last long around him. Being named for his father, Robert II was lovingly dubbed; “Number 2 by family. On his earthly journey, he acquired other names as well - - Number, Two, Two-Bear, Big Rob, Rico and Santana depending on your relationship with him. Robert was charming, loving, friendly, good natured and outgoing. He never met a stranger and could interact with people of all ages and walks of life. Robert showed his compassionate heart when he rescued his dog, Lavish off the streets while he was on his lunchbreak. Robert Earl Manning II leaves to cherish his memory; lovingly devoted mother, Janice (Baker) Manning; sisters, Robyn Janee’ and Erica Monic; aunts, Betty Brown, Sara Hill, Nell Ulmer, Mearl Manning, Kepsa Thomas, Lillie and Modean Manning and Marilyn Sams; uncles, Kellie and Bill Manning; cousins who were like brothers and sisters, god-sister, Sunni Tenai’ Larry; god-daughter, Haniy’yah Brown; and many special friends each having their own unique relationships. Robert was proceeded in death by beloved father, Robert E. Manning Sr.; grandparents, Hazel and Oliver Manning, Emma and Rabon Baker; uncles, Oliver “O.J.”, James “Pete” and special uncles, Glen Brown and Artis “Rico” Manning; aunts, Grace Green and Lillie Manning; cousins, Oliver Manning, Ronnie Manning, Dele Chep Hill and furbaby, Money. The Manning Family would like to thank, Pastor Dr. Rabon Turner and the Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church Family, the Lawrence E.
