Mrs. Rema Baty

BATY, Mrs. Rema - Age 75, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Lewis Randolph, Host Pastor. Rev. Kenneth Casey, Officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Baty will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Rema Dell Baty was born August 5, 1940 in Center Point, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Billie and Inez Hendrix. She was educated in the Arkansas Public School System, before moving to Flint, Michigan in 1965. Rema was employed at Flint Coating while working, she also spent much of her time at Beecher Schools. She was a long time member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership Rev. Dr. Lewis Randolph. She attended church faithfully, until her ailment prevented her from doing so. You could always find Rema spending time with her family and singing along to some music. She never met a stranger and gave her ear to anyone in need. Rema will truly be missed! Mrs. Rema Dell Baty leaves to cherish her memory: loving spouse, Mr. John B. Baty; 2 daughters, Martha (Frank) Dudley and Loretta (Andre) Richardson; son, Chester (Annette) Cash, Jr.; 2 step-sons, Marvin and Ricky Baty, all of Flint; god-daughter, Wilma Boyland of Texas; grandchildren, Taiwan Dudley Lejuan Richardson, LaTasha Hunter, Krystal Banks, Bernetta Otto, Rayshon Cash, Chester Cash III, Cheston Cash, Brandon Baty, all of Flint, Kenesha Dudley, Nikita Hughes, both of Shreveport, LA, and Shameca Richardson of Los Angeles, CA; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charleston (Lillian) Hendrix of Chicago, IL and Leon Hendrix, Sr. of Conway, AR; aunt, Mae Lou Hendrix of Texas; 5 sisters-in-law, Rebecca Hendrix of Chicago, IL, Myrtle McCoy of Detroit, MI, Earlene Dickson of New York, Dorothy Carter and Lois Conner, both of Philadelphia; a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins and friends, including special friends Monica Davis, Carolyn Hendrix, Chester Cash, Sr. and family, as well as the Stewart family. Mrs. Baty was preceded in death by parents, Mr. & Mrs. Billie and Inez Hendrix; a sister and 4 brothers. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center 4 West and 9 East staff, especially Mary and Tina, Rev. Dr. Lewis Randolph and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church family, and Mr. Lawrence E. Moon and staff.
