Pastor Jean Brandon

BRANDON, Pastor Phyllis - Age 57, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 in West Palm Beach, FL. Family hour 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Bethlehem Temple, 3401 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 10:30 a.m. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor Brandon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Tuesday only at the Church. Pastor Phyllis Jean Brandon was born February 4, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Earl and Betty Brandon. Phyllis was a resident of West Palm Beach, Florida for more than 30 years. She accepted Christ as a teenager never to look back. Pastor Brandon was the Pastor of the New Souls Harbor Church in West Palm Beach, Florida for more than 18 years. Pastor Brandon loved God and enjoyed preaching and teaching the Word of God. She impacted the lives of many people. Pastor Brandon had a beautiful voice and enjoyed using it for the glory of God. She always helped those in need. Pastor Brandon believed in the power of prayer. He also loved shopping, dressing up and enjoyed cooking, baking and trying different foods from other Cultures. One of her favorite saying was “Tough times don’t last but tough people do.” Pastor Phyllis Jean Brandon leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Mrs. Betty Brandon; 3 sisters, Diane E. Williams of Mt. Morris, MI, Sandra L. Barnett and Monica F. Brandon, both of Flint; 3 brothers, Leonard L. Brandon of Detroit, MI, Ricardo “Ricky” Brandon of Maricopa, AZ and Eugene A. Brandon of Flint; 4 nieces, Crystal Williams of Mt. Morris, MI, Vanessa and Michelle Rhodes, both of Canton, MI and Rickayla Brandon of Maricopa, AZ; 3 nephews, Leonard (Jody) Jackson of Flint, Marcus E. Williams of Redondo Beach, CA and Justin Brandon-Nangle of Maricopa, AZ; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, Pastor Willie Ruth Moore of Flint. Pastor Brandon was preceded in death by her father, Earl Phillip Brandon and grandparents, Hazel and Ted Ponder. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor and First Lady Phillip J.
