Nemiah Maston

MASTON, Bro. Nemiah - Age 86, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 23, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Family hour 10AM Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Saturday. Bro. Maston will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Bro. Nemiah Maston was born August 22, 1922 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Minerva and Louis Randolph, Sr. He was a WWII Veteran, and received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the American Service Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. Bro. Maston was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army in 1946. He confessed Christ at an early age, and currently was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where his youngest brother, Rev. Lewis Randolph, is Pastor. Nemiah loved to cook and watch wrestling. He was a friend t all and will be greatly missed. Bro. Nemiah Maston leaves to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Margaret (Clifton) Jackson and Deborah (Jim) Johnson, all of Tuscumbia, AL; son, Roger (Flavia) Maston of Leighton, AL; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, A.C. (Edna) Maston, Pastor Lewis Randolph, all of Flint, and John Mullins of Leighton, AL; 6 sisters, Ollie Hudson, Catherine Thomas, Betty (Uslys) Walker, Geneva (Akil) Eberechuku, all of Flint, Patsy Coffey and Gail Mullins, both of Leighton, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, Legretta Lyon, and his many buddies at Centerview Apartments. Bro. Maston was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Mae Maston; daughter, Juanita Maston: son, Arthur Lee Maston; parents, Minerva and Louis Randolph, Sr.; sister, Cornelia Jackson and 2 brothers, James and John Maston. The family would like to express special thanks to his sister and primary caregiver, Betty Walker, McLaren Regional Medical Center, Hurley Medical Center, Kith Haven, RRC Dialysis Center, Dr. Randolph E. Schumacher, M.D., Pastor Lewis Randolph and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Family.
