Mr. Milton Ray McGee Sr.

McGEE, Mr. Milton Ray Sr. - Age 90, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Monday, March 20, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funerals service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Monday. Mr. McGee will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Saturday. Milton Ray McGee Sr., age 90, of Flint, Michigan, passed away on March 12th, 2023, surrounded by his family and close friends. He was a kind and thoughtful soul who loved the Lord and will truly be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. Milton Sr. was born July 8th, 1932 in Quentin, Mississippi, the son of Addie Ray Carter. At the age of 19, Milton moved from Quentin to Saginaw, Michigan seeking a better life for him and his family. He later moved from Saginaw to Flint where he met and married the love of his life Dorothy in 1965. Milton was an employee at General Motors Corp where he retired after 35 years of faithful service. Upon his retirement from GM, Milton was able to dedicate more of his time to his true passions: fishing and gardening. Milton Ray McGee Sr. is survived by: loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy McGee; son, Milton (Sericka) McGee Jr.; 2 daughters, LaShonda (Stacey) Wells and Donna (Myers) Williams; 2 grandchildren, Shontell Brown and Alexandria McGee; 6 great-grandchildren, Keila Catlin, TaBari Griffin, Randall Johnson Jr., Zaniya Brown, Reginald Brown, and Jordann Harris; four nieces, Malinda (Jessie) Jones, Faye Collins, Mary Collins, and Helen (Kevin) Andrews; 4 nephews, Billie (Tammie) Collins, Charles Collins, Samuel (Christen) Collins, and Jimmie (Tawana) Collins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Milton Sr. was preceded in death by his mother, Addie Ray Carter; sister, Willie Mae Collins; 2 nieces, Betty Love and Nancy Collins; and 2 nephews, Dewayne Collins and Fred Collins Jr. The family would like to thank Angela Clarkson of Residential Home Health Care, Shayla Knight, and Aleeyah Johnson who provided assistance during Milton Sr.’s time in hospice. We would also like to thank everyone for their support and prayers.
