WILLIAMS, Mrs. Mildred Faustina - Age 91, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at her residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Bethlehem Temple Church, 3401 Dr. Martin L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Friday, April 26, 2024 from 12:00PM - 6:00 PM with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Mildred Faustina Williams, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at her residence. Mildred, born on November 18, 1932, in Gaffney South Carolina, was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was the daughter of Ruth and Monroe Dawkins and was the sister to ten brothers and sisters who preceded her in death. Throughout her life, Mildred was known for her vibrant spirit, unwavering strength, and kindness towards all those around her. Her infectious laughter and warm smile brought light and love to those who knew her. She was a Christian who loved the Lord and regularly read her Bible. She had a special love for children and treasured her family above all else. She loved cooking, watching cooking shows, and doing word puzzles. Mildred was married to Henry W. Williams who preceded her in death. This union was blessed with nine children. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Roger Williams, Henrietta (Mack) Smith) Belinda Shipps; Richard (Sabrina) Williams; Donna (Theobald) Davis); Theresa (Chuckie) Dillard; Monica Day; Lawrence Williams; and Mildred E. Williams (Tina) and her 27 grandchildren, and over 50 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruthie Dawkins and Lucille Dawkins; a host of special nieces and nephews and dear friends. As we mourn the loss of Mildred, let us celebrate the incredible woman she was and the lasting impact she had on those around her. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit will live on through the memories we hold dear. Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved beyond measure. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Williams; mother and father, Ruth and Monroe Dawkins; grandchildren, Taquan Wright and Narhya Dillard; 10 brothers and sisters, Billy Dawkins, Caroline Dawkins, Eva mae Edwards, Verdell Phillips, Leon “Sonny” Dawkins, Connell Dawkins, Betty Sue Dawkins, Bontee “O’neil Davis, Elaine “Pee Wee” Montgomery and Elizabet Jefferies. Our family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all her friends, family, and caregivers. A special thank you to Dr. Peddireddy and his staff for the excellent care our mother received. Thank you for all of your graciousness and kindness that was given to our mother and her family.
