WHITE, Mrs. Mildred Lee - Age 81, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Willowbrook Manor. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, June 24, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Vincent Bell, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Saturday. Mrs. White will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2023. Mrs. Mildred Lee White was born November 9, 1941 in Beaumont, Texas, the son of Maryann Hughes and Thomas Brown. Mildred was a resident of Flint, Michigan for 48 years. She was also a resident of Louisiana prior to moving to Flint. Mildred was a great mother who loved her children and grandkids. She was a mother and father to her children whom she raised alone. Mildred loved to have fun and make people laugh. Her job was raising her kids and grandkids. She was a kind woman who fed anyone who was hungry. She loved to cook, play cards and spend time with her family and friends. Mildred enjoyed collecting stuffed animals and growing plants. Mrs. Mildred Lee White leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Samuel White of Flint; 2 daughters, Mary Ann Thomas and Brenda Williams; 4 sons, Willie Lee Allen, Ronald Thomas, John Thomas and David Thomas; 35 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Robert Brown, Thomas Brown Jr., both of Melville, TX and Billie Brown of Beaumont, TX; sister-in-law, Mary Allen of Flint; caregiver, Sara Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Priscilla McGhee, Katie Slaughter and Anetta Sykes. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her daughter, Dora Lee Thomas; 2 grandsons, Jeremy Solomon and Antonio Allen; 2 great-grandchildren, Aquilla Allen and Willie De’vante Allen; parents, Maryann Hughes and Thomas Brown; 2 sisters, Gladys Brown Richard; Essie Mae (Thomas) Parker.
