KIMBROUGH, Mr. Michael - Age 41, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at St. George Bethel C.O.G.I.C., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Pastor Raymond Hatter officiating, Eld. George Keel, Host Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Kimbrough will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Michael Kimbrough was born September 6, 1969 at Hurley Medical Center; to the proud parents of Barbara Marie and Sammie Lee Kimbrough. Michael was a lifelong resident of the city of Flint and attended the Flint Community Schools graduating from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1988.” Although, employed in various areas of work to provide for his families mainly engaged in two major areas. Early on he worked in the health care profession for several years, where he was very passionate and engaged with his patients. For the last ten years he worked in the automotive industry with Android Industries as a heavy equipment operator. Michael was raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord at St. George Beth-El C.O.G.I.C., in the sunshine band and purity class, where his parents were devoted members. Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and recently rededicated his life at the Gateway to the Kingdom of Heaven Church under Pastor Raymond Hatter. The Word of God became a lamp unto his feet and a light which guided him throughout his walk with Christ; in all his ways he acknowledged Him, as God directed his path. Michael was a devoted husband and father; a family man who believed in discipline and respect. He was always personally involved in directing and guiding his children toward a life in Christ, education, teaching them to always strive for excellence, and to become responsible citizens. Michael was a very devoted and loving son, who acknowledged his love and admiration. He was a loving brother who was always supportive and protective of his siblings. Michael was a lover of family and was always trying to pull family together because family was an importance to him. He loved family time together, and many activities such as family days, traveling, bowling and playing videos games. Mr. Kimbrough enjoyed outdoor barbeques, and barn fires fellowshipping with family and friends. Also very dear to him was spending time with his youngest child, Mike J, whom he loved very much. Mr. Kimbrough leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Nicole Kimbrough; son, Michael Jr.; daughters, Marcedes Kimbrough and Charvie’ Daniels; four stepchildren, Victor Miller, Whittley Anderson and their mother, Dana Kimbrough, Samantha and Anthony Jr. Williams; parents, Sammie Kimbrough and devoted mother, Barbara (Hatter) Kimbrough; sister, Angela Kimbrough; brother, Carlos Kimbrough; many nieces and nephews; 8 aunts; 12 uncles, James (Patricia), Henry (Barbara), Lorenzo (Mattie), Joseph (Angela), Glenn (Mae), Raymond (Courtney) Hatter, Jameel (Jeri) Hasan, Margaret (Alvin) Pollard, and JD Steward, James (Gail) Ragston, Earl (Katie) and Clifford Kimbrough, Mattie Chevalier and Clara Maston; mother and father-in-law, Doris Bryant and Joe (Penny) Bryant; sisters and brothers-in-law, Drianna (Matthew) Keltner and Joseph (Ashley) Bryant; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Jermaine “Jay”, Vanessa Beaugard and many we know not of. Mr. Kimbrough was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank (Isabella) Hatter and paternal grandparents, Willie (Rozzie) Kimbrough; godmother and aunt, Mary Frances Ragston; aunt, Corneila Steward; cousins, Marcus Hatter and Lorenzo Orr; and many of other relatives too numerous to name in no way diminishing his relationship with each of them.
