Mrs. Melissa (Abron) White Turner

TURNER, Mrs. Melissa (Abron) White - Age 55, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, April 25, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Friday, April 25, 2025. Mrs. Turner will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from Thursday, April 24, 2025 from12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Melissa White (Abron) Turner was born May 18, 1969 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Edd and Ernestine Abron. She attended John F. Kenndy Elementary, Longfellow Middle School and she was a 1987 graduate of Flint Southwestern High School. In 1992, Melissa married Marvin Turner, and together they have 3 children, Blake, Mercedes and Quantre. While raising her family, Melissa worked at the former McDonald’s in Courtland Center Mall. She was a stellar employee and made many friends and acquaintances, because of her bright smile. Melissa worked there until her health would no longer allow it. She grew up in a Christian home, going to church every Sunday. Melissa sang in the Children’s Choir, she attended Vacation Bible School and made the decision to serve as an Usher in the House of the Lord. Melissa White Turner leaves to cherish her memory: 3 children, Blake, Mercedes and Quantre; 6 grandchildren, Mya, Ty, Myiona, Erin, Mu’Lan and Millan, all of Flint. She is also survived by 5 sisters, Janet Townsend of Marion, IN, Zadia K. Edmond of Swartz Creek, MI, Maria Abron of Flint, Ingrid Abron of Ypsilanti, MI and Irma Baker of Pearland, TX; 4 brothers, Eddie Abron, Wayne Abron, Shaphan Abron, all of Flint and Nathanael (JoEarl) Abron; uncles, Mr. A.W. White, all of Chicago, IL and Mr. E. Rodney White; aunt, Mrs. Laverne Watkins, both of Pine Bluff, AR. There are also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins including special cousins, Kendra Boykins and Nicole White; a host of friends including close friend, Euphase Jamerson. Her first nephews, John Baker was like a twin brother to her and her first niece, Latrina Barnes “Tink” was like a sister to her. They all shared many fun times. Not only did they sound alike; having dimples made them look alike. Melissa was preceded in death by her loving parents, Edd and Ernestine Abron; brother, Staff Sgt. Phillip Abron; sister, Rechanda Abron; nephew, Ryan Baker; niece, Corrin Abron; and brother-in-law, Jerry Townsend. The family would like to express special thanks to Elder David & Sherri Eichelberger and family, Pastor Eric & First Lady Patricia Lewis and Faith Temple COGIC family, Pastor Lawrence Washington and Church of God family, Lawrence E.
