WILLIAMS, Mrs. Mary - Age 85, passed away Friday, February 15, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service at 11AM. Pastor Lewis Randolph officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mrs. Mary M. Williams was born Mary M. Lawson December 20, 1921 in St. Paul, South Carolina, the daughter of Thomas Oliver and Carmilla Lawson. Mary's parents passed soon after. Her aunt, Mrs. Henrietta Skinner brought her to Flint, Michigan as a child and raised her. Mary attended Fairview Elementary, Lowell Jr. High and Northern High School. Mary married her childhood sweetheart August 2, 1940, Willie "Big Bill" Williams. She was hired at GM Chevrolet Motor Car and was a member of UAW Local #598. Mary decided to stop working and raise a family. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at a young age. Mother Williams joined Ebenezer Ministries, where the Pastor is Min. Urundi B. Knox. Mother Williams loved the Lord and studied her Bible faithfully. She often sent cards with a hand written scripture to uplift the spirits of the sick and shut-in. Mother Mary M. Williams leaves to cherish her sweet memories: 2 daughters, Brenda J. Waits and Hilda J. Craig; son, Robert Cornelius Williams; 3 step-brothers, John T. (Evelyn) Skinner, Jerry and Charles Skinner; numerous grandchildren including, Min. Brian Craig of Atlanta, GA; nephew, Rev. Lenord Williams; sister-in-law, Mrs. Della Rawls; a host of other relatives and dear devoted friends. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years August 2, 2007, Willie "Big Bill" Williams; 3 children, Harold, Willie "Billie", and Venus Pringle; 1 great-grandchild, Christian Amiracle Smith; The family would like to express special thanks to, all the family, dear friends especially cousin, Betty Franklin, Ms. Pam Ross, Heritage Manor 4th floor staff, Heartland Care-Eddie, Tyra and Amy, Hurley Medical Center, Rita, The Feasters, Pastor Lewis Randolph and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church family.
