STRINGER-DAVIS, Mother Mary - Age 77, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Regency, Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 10AM Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at St. Mark Baptist Church, 3020 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor Kevin Thompson, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Mother will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and my be viewed 12PM-8PM Tuesday. Mother Mary Stringer-Davis began this journey of life on April 12, 1941 in Bay Spring, Mississippi, the daughter of Alberta and Sylvan Strong. Mother Mary Stringer-Davis accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age in Mississippi. After relocating to Flint, Michigan, she united with First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. In August 1980, she became a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Mothers Board and Usher Board, served as a Deaconess and attended Sunday School. She served her church dutifully and without waiver. Mother Davis retired from General Motors after 30 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659. Mother Mary Stringer-Davis was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She loved reading her daily word, spending time with her family and friends, shopping and cooking; she had a vibrant laugh and witty sense of humor. She always put her family first in everything she did. We will all miss her gentle touch, delightful demeanor and her words of inspiration and encouragement. Mother Mary Stringer-Davis leaves to cherish her memory, son, Michael (Cheryl) Stringer of Flint; daughters, Darlene (Pastor Reginald) Woolfolk of Grand Blanc, MI and Marlene Stringer-Ingram (James Jones) of Flint; grandson, Davonte whom she raised for 15 years as her son; grandchildren, Tory, Michael, Marquitta, Delrico (JaKeah), Tamara (Curtis), Vincent, Regina, Jordan, Shantrice, Gabrielle and Mary; 12 great-grand-children; 2 sisters, Earline Page of Flint and Bobbi Subblet of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Willie Page of Flint; god-daughter, Angie Thornton-George whom she loved so very dearly; special friends, Rozene Handley, Shirley Sillman and Eleanor Harris; a host of other relatives and friends including, Terry Peterson and Jenina Peterson. Mother Stringer-Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Alberta and Sylvan Strong; 1 sister, 4 brothers; husband and father of her children, Morsell Stringer; second husband, Dutch Davis; and best friend, Elizabeth Peterson.
