Ms. Mary Andrea Saunders

SAUNDERS, Ms. Mary Andrea - Age 41, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at Ascension-Resurrection Hope Hospital in Chicago, IL. Family hour 1:30 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral services commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Tuesday. Ms. Saunders will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral. Public viewing will be during family hour only. On August 2nd, 1984, marked the beginning for Mary, born to Vonda Kay Read and Howard Saunders, Jr. This doting parent was the beloved mother of Montreall Moore and Malaysia Stover. The second oldest of 4 siblings: LaToya (Kerry) Buckner; Antonio and Louis Anthony Ford. Mary attended Flint Schools and Flint Genesee Job Corps with a dental hygienist certification. She enjoyed much of her time with family (especially her children). Added joys were music, cooking, shopping, and switching up her hair color and styles! Her personality was so beautiful (along with being thoughtful/compassionate & having a good sense of humor)! Thus, people couldn’t help but gravitate towards her. She was someone who studied the Bible and enjoyed taking in accurate knowledge of our God and Creator and his purpose for mankind and the earth. She recently started back attending Christian meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses when health and circumstances permitted her. It was on Monday, August 4, 2025, when reality could no longer be denied! Official words were received about her unexpected passing at the Chicago International Airport (when enroute from Dallas, TX to Flint, MI). Although we can’t turn back time, we can look forward to seeing her again when God makes all things new! Mary Andrea Saunders leaves to cherish her memory: one dear son, Montreall Moore; one precious daughter, Malaysia Stover; father, Howard Saunders Jr.; devoted siblings, sister, LaToya (Kerry) Buckner; brothers, Antonio Ford and Louis Anthony Ford; nieces, Aniyah Ford and Kylei Buckner; nephews, Leigand Brown and Kerry Buckner III; grandmother, Odie "Mother Dear” Saunders; aunts, Betty Edmonds, Floria Crockett, Karen (Cricket) Felder,Dawn Ford and Vicki Dobson; uncles, Raymond L. Felder, Louis Ali Ford, Louis (Drum) Ford, Willie Triplett and Lamonte Saunders; many cousins including, Twylia Ford and Travis Ford; a conglomeration of other relatives, neighbors and friends consisting also of Kevin and Maria Baugh and Lo Hartfield. Mary was preceded in death by her beautiful mother, Vonda Kay Read; concerned grandparents, Louis and Beverly Ford; Howard Saunders; loving great-grandmothers, Lula Felder and Marcella Henry.
