JONES, Ms. Mary L. - Age 63, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church, 4075 E. Atherton Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10:00AM Saturday, June 17, 2023. Ms. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, June 16, 2023. Ms. Mary Lynne Jones was born on December 23, 1959 in Flint, Michigan, the 6th and youngest child born to Charlie and Barbara Jones. Mary attended Flint Community Schools and graduated from Flint Central High School, “Class of 1978”, where she enjoyed sports and playing basketball. Mary loved music, fashion and spending time with her loved ones, especially her kids and grandkids. She had no problem being the life of the party. Mary loved to dance and was known for making her famous spaghetti salad, it was the best. She spent 63 years on this earth being a committed mother, daughter, grandmother and just a great women overall. Out of those 63 years, she spent over 25 years working as a caregiver. Mary had a heart of gold and would do anything for the ones she loved. When you saw Mary, you just knew you were about to get a good laugh and have a great day. Her memory will live forever. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. Ms. Mary Lynne Jones leaves to cherish her memory: her loving mother, Barbara Jones; 2 daughters, Mia Jones and Jennifer Jones; son, Amir Jones; son-in-law, Darryl Morgan; 2 grandsons, Kyree Morgan and Kody Morgan; granddaughter, Rylee Lyles; sister, Ruby Spears; brother, Kenneth Jones; 4 nieces, Danielle Dill, Ma’sheka Spears, Rachedia Jones and Jassmyn Horne; 6 nephews, Jarroun Freeman Jones, Quantae (Lizette) Bush, Christopher Westbrook, Roosevelt (Crystal) Jones, Robert Owens and Breion Spears; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends including great-niece, Kentazia Presswood; special uncle, Louis (Dorthy) Jones; special friends, Georgia Smith, Dorothy Nelson, Yvonne Bryant and Evelyn Taylor. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Jones Jr.; sister, Jennifer Ernest; 2 brothers, Kevin Jones and Charles Jones; and nephew, Deonco Jones.
