CARROLL, Mrs. Mary Ollie - Age 58, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, March 2, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Archie Powell, Jr. officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Carroll will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Mary Ollie Carroll was born January 14, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Jessie James and Rosie Lee (Moore) Anthony. She was a resident of Flint and a member of First Union Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed fishing, shopping, cooking, watching cooking shows and spending time with family. She loved the Lord and spent her time reading and studying the Word of God. Her most favorite hobby was spending time with her grandchildren which were the loves of her life. Mary also enjoyed listening to her oldies music station. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Mrs. Mary Ollie Carroll leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, April Anthony; 2 sons, Johnte (Tanisha) Anthony and Roosevelt Anthony; 8 grandchildren, Jonta Anthony of Nashville, TN, Daniel Wirth of Flint, Shimeir Anthony of Nashville, TN, Iyanna of Flint, Amyrie Anthony, Joel Anthony, Janelle Anthony and Janae Anthony, all of Nashville, TN; 3 sisters, Alice (Rev. Archie Jr.) Powell, Paticher Moore and Margaret Hicks; 3 brothers, Edward (Cynthia) Brazil, Preston Anthony and Johnie (Kerrie) Moore Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including close loving friend, Sonya Ivory. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate, Roosevelt Johnson; parents, Jessie James and Rosie Lee (Moore) Anthony; sister, Gloria Brazil; niece, Rosa Moore; and sister-in-law, Angela Anthony. The family would like to express special thanks to Rev. Archie Powell Jr. and the First Union Baptist Church family, the entire Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home family, also to friends and family who expressed their loved throughout our time of bereavement.
