Mrs. Marva Joe Webb

WEBB, Mrs. Marva J. - age 70, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Heartland Heart Care Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at North Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1657 Broadway Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Webb will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Marva Joe Webb was born April 7, 1944 in Johnson City, Tennessee, the daughter of Grady Martin Simmons and Sara France- Simmons. She moved to Flint in 1955 and attended Flint Community Schools where she met her husband R.C. Webb. Marva worked at Hurley Medical Center for 30 plus years. She attended North Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James O. Flowers in her early years. Marva loved bowling, softball, going to the casino, traveling, shopping and she loved to cook and do catering on the side sometimes. But most of all she loved positive music, her favorite current song was “Happy”. Marva loved spending time with her family and grandkids. Mrs. Marva Joe Webb leaves to cherish her memory; husband, R.C. Webb; 2 sons, Theangelis ( Rea Phyllis) Webb and Delano Webb all of Flint; grandchildren, Sharise Stephens, Sharay Gipson, Theangelis J. Webb Jr., Thelisa Webb, Ray Gipson, Tarus C. Webb and Courtney Gipson; a host of great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mary Hines, Cecelia Brooks, Pastor Wanda Marshall and Sarah (Rayford) Gray; brother, Major Fuller all of Flint; 7 sisters-in-law, Audrey Jackson, Ruby Bryant, Jean Duke, Janice Brown, Nclsenior (Les) Smith, Millicent Nunn and Emma Webb; brothers-in-law, Jonathan (Doris) Webb. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Webb preceded in death by son, Jonathan C. Webb; parents; stepdaughter, Tonya Gipson; niece, Natalie Arkwright; 2 brothers Grady Simmons and Mark Simmons; 3 nephews, Leon C. Bryant, Ronnie Marshall and James Forward; brothers-in-law, Carl Hines and Russell Webb; mother-in-law, Georgia A. Nunn. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Abdullah Rafee, McLaren-Flint and Heartland Briarwood-Nursing Home.
