LEVERETTE, Miss Margaret Gail - Age 75, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, May 16, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Friday. Miss Leverette will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral and may be viewed from 12:00PM-6:00PM Thursday. Miss Margaret Louise Leverette, affectionately known by all who loved her as “Gail,” was born on August 29, 1949, in Marion, Alabama, the daughter of Eugene and Roberta (Benson) Leverette. Gail was raised in Flint, Michigan, with her parents and siblings until the passing of their mother in 1989. From then on, Gail lived a wonderful life with her only sister, Debra—lovingly known as “Lady”—and her beloved brother-in-law, along with her nieces Tamieka and Tiana, nephews Ramin, Roderick, Stephen, and Alan, and her cherished son Bo. It was Gail’s warm, nurturing spirit that helped make Lady’s house the loving home it was for all who entered, a place filled with laughter, care, and deep family bonds, until she made her transition to her heavenly home. Gail enjoyed watching television, some of her favorite shows were Let’s Make a Deal, The Price is Right, Days of Our Lives, All my children and General Hospital. She spent each and every night watching the Golden Girls with her niece Miki and her sister Lady. To Gail, they were the Golden Girls. She enjoyed coloring books where she colored all of the people brown, crossword puzzles where she made many new words of her own, and making pot holders by hand. If you were lucky, you could get her to sell you one for $1. Above all, Gail’s heart belonged to family and children. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her beloved son, Marvin “Bo,” whom she cherished beyond measure. Gail loved her nieces and nephews, and they loved her back, each one was held close to her heart. Her nurturing spirit, love and care extended far beyond family. She was a longtime member of Woodside Church, where she lovingly served in the children’s nursery for many years. She was a comforting presence to neighborhood children and anyone in need of a kind smile. Gail lived a life rooted in love and service. She gave from the depths of her soul—never asking for recognition, always giving from the heart. Miss. Margaret Louise “Gail” Leverette leaves to cherish her sweet memories, only son Marvin “Bo” Leverette of Flint, MI;. only sister, Debra (Andrew) Paul of Flint, MI; 4 brothers, Gene (Freda), Tony, David and Tyrone Leverette all of Flint, MI, Aunt Fannie Mae Broom of Las Vegas, NV, beloved nieces Tamieka, Tiana and Tiffany; Nephews Ramin, Roderick, Stephen (Nia) and Alan; great nephew Ahzsir all of Flint, MI and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins. Miss. Leverette was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Roberta (Benson) Leverette; grandparents, Otha (Hannah) Leverette; brothers, Danny Leverette Sr. and Jimmy Leverette and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Gail’s life was a testament to the power of love and quiet strength. Her memory will live on in the lives of all those she touched: family, friends, and a generation of children whose lives she enriched simply by being herself. Gail Leverette was deeply loved, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her. Though she has departed this life, the imprint she leaves behind—in the hearts she nurtured, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely—will endure forever. Her legacy is one of warmth, devotion, and unshakable love. We will remember her with full hearts and continue to celebrate her life, her spirit, and the beautiful example she set for us all.
