HAYDEN, Mrs. Margaret E. - Age 79, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at her residence. Family hour 10AM Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 317 E. Hamilton, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Dr. Leroy Shelton officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Tuesday. Mrs. Hayden will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Monday. Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Hayden was born February 9, 1928 in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of Annie and Arthur Wood. Margaret came to Flint in 1954 and was united in holy matrimony to Harold R. Hayden, Sr. in November of that year. She was employed by Hamady Brothers as a meat cutter for 22 years and retired in 1984. She was an active member of the local meat cutters union and VFW Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Hayden was a faithful member of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed singing with "The Voices of Christ Fellowship", attending Sunday school class #10 and Wednesday evening bible class. Margaret enjoyed cooking and was renowned for her exceptional culinary skills. She was also a devoted University of Michigan football fan. Mrs. Margaret E. Hayden leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Leigh Ann Hayden; son, Kevin Hayden of Flint; stepson, Harold R. (Cassandra) Hayden, Jr. of Flint. Margaret and Harold were the legal guardians of Carla (Arthur) DeBow of Phoenix, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Jordan (Hayden) VanBuren of North Port, Florida, Tiana and Taneisha Hayden of Flint and Jamie (Hayden) McQueen of North Port, Florida; her sister in life, Betty West of Flushing, Michigan; nephew, Gregory Farris of Flint; cousins, Mrs. Della M. Tucker and Fredrick Caldwell of Flint; sister-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn (Chester) Weathers of Flint; daughters in life, Marjorie (Len) Wickcliffe of Flint, Mona Beasley of Flint, Ruchelle and Linda Hoskins of Atlanta, Ga., Caroline Wilson of Palm Springs, CA., Michelle McQueen of North Port, Fla., Diana White and Shirley Campbell of Flint; grandchildren in life, Toriano and Katoria Mosley of Flint, David Hoskins of Atlanta, Ga., Robbie Hoskins of South Africa and Santana White of Flint; special friends, Benjamin Jones, Louis Dilworth, Rose Lily, Mary Evans, Morris Johnstone, Clarence and Juanita Golden of Flint, Richard and Alicia Welch, Sr. of Detroit, Michigan, devoted family pets, Hey-Leigh and Diva and the entire Christ Fellowship Church family. Mrs. Hayden was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Arthur Wood; husband, Harold R. Hayden, Sr.; aunt and uncle, Mrs. Anna L. and Mr. John Ed Powell; and cousins, Ms. Jackie Nelson, Mr. Benjamin Tucker, and Mrs. Consuella Williams.
