Mr. Major Alfred Blackmon Sr.

BLACKMON, Mr. Major Alfred Sr. - Age 57, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, April 20, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Devontae Powell, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel 10:30 AM Saturday, April 20, 2024. Mr. Blackmon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday, April 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Major Alfred Blackmon Sr. “Damage” was born December 10, 1966 in Flint, Michigan, the youngest son of the late Odessa and Caroline Blackmon. Major was a resident of Flint for most of his life. He moved to Bloomington, IL in 2003 and worked for Clarion Pointe in Bloomington. Major Sr. later moved to Lake Providence, LA and lived with his aunt, Annie Pyles in 2016 and later moved back to Flint. He attended Flint Community Schools. Major Sr. received his G.E.D. He enjoyed cooking, eating and experiencing new recipes in the kitchen and on the grill. Major Sr. was employed by the City of Flint for a short period of time. He loved to laugh and have fun especially with his children, nephews and nieces. Major Sr. had a great sense of humor. He would spend some of his days over his sisters house Duranda, there they would watch Tubi Movies together. He was loved by his family and will be truly missed. Mr. Major Alfred Blackmon Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Alisha (Antonio) Bradley of Flint; 4 sons, Major Blackmon Jr. of Bloomington, IL, Stephone Allison of Arizona, LaQuan Blackmon of Flint and Andray Alexander of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren, Eric, Johntez, Hill, Javonta Frye, Jaden Bradley, Damoni Williams, R’mani Bradley, Zaileah and Zyaire Williams, all of Flint, Beyond and Kamijah Blackmon of Bloomington, IL, London, Logan, LaQuan Blackmon Jr., all of Saginaw, MI and Javaria Karr; 3 sisters, Margaret (Allen) Seales, Durand Blackmon, all of Flint and Jeannette (William) Ruffin of Oak Grove, LA; 2 brothers, Gregory and Frederick Blackmon, both of Flint; 7 nieces, Crystal Willturner, Alexis Abbott, Jalayiah Carter, all of Flint, Jaleesa Blackmon of Atlanta, GA, ShaQuandra Jamison of Fort Worth, TX, Tinesa Ruffin of Seattle, WA and Danille Ruffin of Oak Grove, LA; 10 nephews, Omar (Tonya) Hull, William and Tamar Jones, Demario, Eric, Derek and Jarrod Blackmon, all of Flint, Gerald Blackmon of Lake Providence, LA, Allen (Shawnese) Seales of Roseville, MI and Donald Gray of Oak Grove, LA; aunt, Annie Marie Pyles of Lake Providence, LA; a host of cousins that he loved dearly including special cousin, Tom Allen; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Larry Walker and Treleua “T. Baby” Abrams; special ladies, Regina Bradley and Stephanie Allison. Mr. Blackmon Sr. was preceded in death by his mother, Caroline Blackmon; father, Odessa Blackmon; grandparents, Major Sr. and Florence Pyles; brother, Williams Blackmon; nephews, Deonta Blackmon and Demarcus Walker; uncles, Luther Sr. and Major Jr. Pyles; aunt, Fannie Finley.
