Mother Luvenia Talton

TALTON, Mother Luvenia - age 59, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at Regency at Grand Blanc-Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at The Evangelistic Temple Church, 1819 Welch Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11:30 a.m. Elder Devon Robinson presiding and District Elder Joe Robinson officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Saturday. Mother Talton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday. Mother Luvenia Talton was born January 21, 1955 in Tunica, Mississippi the daughter of James Talton and Clara Smith. She was a resident of Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Northern High School “Class of 1973”. Luvenia was also a graduate from Ross Medical Center as Medical Assistant where she worked in the medical field most of her. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family. Luvenia was a very humble, meek, kind and gentle her character displayed all the fruits of her spirit, this was her DNA. Mother Luvenia was affiliated with the Evangelistic Church along with her children in December 1979. She was baptized and saved in the year 1996 under the leader and shepherd of Pastor Joe W. Robinson, Evangelistic Temple. She made her election and calling sure and served as the President of Nurses Guild and was a licensed Social Missionary in the church of our Lord Jesus Christ of Church the Apostolic Faith, Inc. Luvenia was appointed to the Mother Board of the church and served their until her death. Mother Luvenia Talton leaves to cherish in her memory: 3 daughters, Lawanda (Calvin) Moore, Tara and Delilah (Kevin) Talton; son, DeAndre (Rebecca) Talton; step-daughter, LaShaunda Horton; 6 grandchildren, DeAngelo Talton, Shondreca, Calvin Moore Jr. all of Flint, MI, Corey Wilson II, Damarion and Zarya Lynn all of Columbus, OH; 2 great-grandchildren, Amira Love of Flint, MI and Corey Wilson III of Columbus, OH; mother, Clara Smith; step-father, Clifford Smith; siblings, Barbara Stewart of Chicago, IL, Gail Morgan of Swartz Creek, MI, Larry (Francia) Talton, James Talton Jr., Valerie (Oberto) Williams, and Kenneth (Katrina) Talton; 2 aunts, Pearl Reed of Chicago, IL and Kittie Mae Gray of Flint, MI; 6 uncles, Willie (Brazie) Jackson Jr., Walter, Curtis (Sandra) Jackson of Tunica, MS, Walter, Noble and LeRoy (Diane) Jackson all of Memphis, TN; 15 nieces and 12 nephews; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Luther Pyles, Mother Sheila Robinson, Debra Feimster, Mattie Kemp and Pat Carter all of Flint, MI. Mother Talton was preceded by her father, James Talton; grandparents, Willie and Lodenia Jackson Sr.; 2 aunts, Willie Mae Charles and Louise Webb; uncle, Charlie McNeary; cousin, Jayden Byrd and niece, Tiffany Garraway. The family would like to express special thanks to The Regency Grand Blanc, U of M Ann Arbor, and Rebecca Talton for taking great care of our mom, Mrs. Mary Anthony, Hurley and Genesis Cancer Center and The Evangelistic Temple Church Family, Mr. & Mrs. Hicks and Expressions Hair & Nails.
