POUNCY, Mrs. Lucile – Age 65, passed away Friday, October 9, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30PM Saturday, October 17, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2PM, Pastor Robert Rushing officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Saturday. Mrs. Pouncy will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Friday. Mrs. Lucile Pouncy was the second child born to Mr. Henry Sr. and Mary Trannon on February 24, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1962, Lucile graduated from Hooper City High School in Birmingham, AL. She was united in marriage to Mr. George Pouncy II and to this union three children were born, George III, Cynthia and Courtney Pouncy. Lucile was employed with Manley Elementary School as a Lunch Mom, the Holiday Inn Express as a Housekeeper, and a Caregiver. Lucile had a heart of gold. She helped everyone and everybody. Her home and her heart were like a revolving door, (she was there for you). She always spoke her mind and told you exactly how she felt. Her famous words were “I Can Dig It”. She spent a lot of time playing with her Granny-Baby, Micah. She enjoyed watching soap operas and old movies, playing card games and dominoes, which she taught to all her friends and family, young and old. Her home was known as the neighborhood candy store, you name it, she had it! She was the “Candy Lady”. Mrs. Lucile Pouncy leaves to cherish her memory: 3 children, George Pouncy III and Cynthia Pouncy, both of Flint, Courtney (Kimberly) Pouncy of Dublin, OH; her beloved Chihuahua, Chili Pouncy; 6 grandchildren, Crystal Wilson, George Pouncy IV, Jasmine Newell, Jevonta Shaw, Quartel Pouncy, all of Flint, Courtney Pouncy of Dublin, OH; 2 great-grandchildren, Micah “Granny-Baby” Hartwell, Harmony “Grit-Grit” Pouncy, both of Flint; 2 sisters, Beverly Trannon of Flint and Patricia Trannon of Birmingham, AL; 4 brothers, Matthew Trannon, Henry Trannon, Jr., both of Flint, James (Combonita) Trannon, Lovell Trannon, all of Birmingham, AL; a host of nieces, nephews; 2 uncles, Tyler Turpin of Birmingham, AL, Matthew “Uncle Stick” Trannon of Los Angeles, CA; mother-in-law, Mamie Pouncy; 4 sisters-in-law, Katherine Trannon, Darlene Pouncy, Alice Trannon, Martha Edwards; 2 brothers-in-law, Dewayne Pouncy, Ernest Pouncy; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Renise Orr, Hattie Gilmore, Francis Barfield, Brenda Blaylock, Patty Bivens. Mrs. Lucile Pouncy was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Mary Trannon; brothers, Joe Turpin and Charley Trannon; sisters, Dorene Trannon McCain and Laura Dinkins. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Hurley Medical Center, Davita Dialysis, Select Specialty Hospital, Gentiva Home Health and Heartland Fostorian Nursing Home.
