MAYS, Mr. Lovoye - Age 52, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Genesys Hospice Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Pastor Ronnie Wiggins officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Friday. Mr. Mays will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Lovoye Mays was born February 24, 1958 in Flint, MI to Ebernezis Mays and Herbert Hoey. Lovoye was a lifelong resident of Flint. He was a member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Lovoye received his education in the Flint Area Schools. He was employed by Kettering Technology until his health failed. Lovoye loved basketball and other sports, which he enjoyed with family and friends, but most of all he loved time spent with them, especially during family reunions and get-togethers, when he would tell jokes and stories of the great memories growing up that would have everyone laughing. Lovoye enjoyed having fun and living life to the fullest. Mr. Lovoye Mays leaves to cherish his memory: 10 sisters, Kehelis Mays of Memphis, TN, Delonie Hamilton, Angela (Eric) Beck, Denise (Tracy) Mays, Bernadette Mays, Minnie Hoey, Shirley (Hamp) Muschatt, Valarie (L.C.) Lewis, Elaine (Lones) Gilbert and Annette (Berlone) Boozer, all of Flint; 5 brothers, William (Angela) Mays, Joe Nathan Mays, Herbert (Terri) Hoey, Gregory Hoey and Dwayne Hoey, all of Flint; 21 nieces including special niece, Dynasty Mays; 13 nephews including special nephew, D’Angelo Mays; 15 great-nieces; 15 great-nephews including special great-nephew, Cordell Beck, Jr.; 3 aunts, Mrs. Sara Toney of Flint, Mrs. Liza Brock of Washington, D.C. and Ms. Anna Jo Hoey of Gaffney, SC; a host of other relative and friends including special friend, Ms. Lori Ann Cornelius, special cousin, Evelyn Tucker, special friend, Brent Diggs and god-mother, Deloris Turner. Mr. Mays was preceded in death by parents, grandparents and other relatives. The family would like to express special thanks to the Hamilton Family, and the Genesys Hospice.
