Ms. Lisa Annette Hairston

HAIRSTON, Ms. Lisa Annette - Age 62, passed away Sunday June 13, 2021 at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Monday June 21, 2021 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2120 Saginaw Street, with funeral service commencing 2:00 PM Rev. Dr. Daniel E. Moore, Sr. officiating. Internment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 1:30 PM Monday. Ms. Hairston will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Saturday. Ms. Lisa Annette Hairston was born June 13, 1959 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Legare and Ruby Jewell Hairston. Lisa graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1977” and from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1982 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration. In her early career, Lisa held many notable Sales positions, including Gantos Specialty Boutique at Genesee Valley Mall; where she was frequently the Top Salesperson. She also worked for the Urban League of Flint from 1987-2000. Most recently she was employed as the Director of Human Resources for Business Services for Action Management. Lisa loved spending time with family and friends. She was very funny, loving, generous and was our family historian. Lisa also had a special place in her heart for a little “fella” named, Cooper. She was a straight forward, honest person who was very quick witted and not known to pull any punches. Lisa was so very much like her mom, Ruby, she always left an indelible impression on whomever she met. We were extremely blessed to have had her in our lives. Ms. Lisa Annette Hairston leaves to cherish her memory: sister, Cheryl (Warren) Lee of Atlanta, GA; 6 brothers, Kenneth Davis Mitchner, Wendell (Lisa) Hairston, Patrick (Dawn) Hairston, all of Flint, Maury Hairston, Darryl Hairston, both of Atlanta, GA and Terence (Chris) Hairston of New York, NY; 4 nieces, Erica Lee of Los Angeles, CA, Allyce Lee of Atlanta, GA, Juanita Simpson and Andrea Hairston, both of Flint; 5 nephews, Edrice (Shari) Hairston of Atlanta, GA, Kionte Mayberry, Kejuan Hairston, Travis Hairston and Lionel D. Keener Jr., all of Flint; 3 great-nieces; 3 special cousins, Demetria “Lynn” Flake, Delores McDavid Wolf and DiAnne McDavid Holloway; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Dr. Charlene Austin, Stephanie Cranford, Kimberly Streeter, Karen Streeter and Debra Miller; sisters-in-love, Wendy Brown and Vicki Lee Barry. Ms. Hairston was preceded in death by her parents, Legare and Ruby Jewell Hairston; brother, Rodney E. Hairston; uncle, Cleorn Day Sr.; and cousin, Chad Richardson. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Ashish Sarin, Rev. Dr. Daniel E. Moore, Sr, and the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church family, Action Management and Joyce Blazen.
