WILSON, Mr. Linnon - Age 72, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, February 4, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Norman McLemore, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home, 10:30 AM Saturday, February 4, 2023. Mr. Wilson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2023. Mr. Linnon Darnell Wilson was born on May 10th, 1950 in Meridian, Mississippi, the son of Tom and Jane Wilson. Mr. Wilson gave his life to Christ at an early age at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian. After moving to Flint, Michigan, he worked as a Welder for twenty years. Linnon became a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the founding Pastor, the late Rev. Dr. W.A. Cox and served faithfully as a Trustee, a Lead Singer in the Mass Choir and the Male Chorus, served on the Usher Board and worked diligently as the church all around handyman until the Lord called him home. Trustee Wilson always had a joke to make you laugh, and he loved gardening. Mr. Linnon Darnell Wilson leaves to cherish his memory: beloved wife, Renee Charlotte Wilson; 2 daughters, Tamyra Wilson, both of Flint and Passion Javelia Mosley of Memphis, TN; 3 step-daughter, Stephanie Haynes, Kawana Haynes and Tayler Stewart, all of Saginaw, MI; step-son, Willie Shields II of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Akeem Barfield, Pas’sion Blanks, Adelia Wilson, Patrick Mosley and Victor Mosley; great-grandchildren, Aubree Boyce, Aderrious Davis, A’majesty Barfield and Majesty Barfield; step-grandchildren, Jeremiah Johnson-Shields, Jaydan Johnson, Jaylen Johnson, Carter Lane and Emonie Bates; 2 sisters, Anita Wilson of Meridian, MS and Elaine (Allen) Nobles of Charlotte, NC; 3 brothers, Glen (Robin) Wilson Sr. of Philadelphia, MS, Earl (Betty) Wilson of Meridian, MS and Michael Wilson of Jacksonville, AR; a host of other relatives and friends including his Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church family. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Jane Wilson; 3 brothers, Alvin Dale Wilson, Harold Wilson and George Anthony Wilson; and special cousin, George Temple.
