NELSON, Ms. Linda Kaye - Age 71, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, May 7, 2026, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Min. Lorenzo Nelson, officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Thursday. Ms. Nelson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Ms. Linda Kaye Nelson was born May 24, 1954, in Cass City, Texas, the daughter of Patrick and Para Lee Nelson. Linda was a resident of Flint, Michigan. She enjoyed Sundays at Berston Field House watching the softball games every season. Linda will be deeply missed. Ms. Linda Kaye Nelson leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, NiKiesha LaShawn Nelson; son, Lorenzo Cortez (Chiquita) Nelson Sr.; grandchildren, Malachi, Kimori, Nariyah and Lorenzo Jr.; 3 sisters, Brenda Brooks, Dorothy Nelson, and Patricia Nelson, all of Flint; 3 nieces, Jacquella Nelson, Tomika Dunbar and Dana Taylor; 4 nephews, Cedrick (Kayetta) Nelson, Anthony (Tamika) Nelson, Armaad (Natasha) Nichols and Rashad (Megan) Nichols; aunt, Shirley Harris of Houston, TX; 2 uncles, Johnnie (Alzay) Lane of St. Louis, MO and Jimmy (Zepha) Nelson of Flint; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, including, Ali’yonah Veal Nelson, Mi’Yahna Nelson, Aniya Nelson, Damarion and Jaiden Neal, and Angelica Nelson; a host of other relatives and friends. Ms. Nelson was preceded in death by her daughter, Erika Roshinda Nelson; parents, Patrick and Para Lee Nelson; grandparents, Howard (Katie) Nelson, Pastoria, Elmo and Modessie Lane; sister, Jacqueline Nelson; niece, Cierra Nelson; uncle, Donnie Lane; cousins, Latonya and Tabarkus Lane.
