Linda Gray

GRAY, Mrs. Linda (Bracy) -Age 55, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006 in Longbeach, CA. Family hour 1:30PM Friday, May 26, 2006 from the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2PM. Bishop Odis A. Floyd officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1:30PM Friday. Linda now lies in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Mrs. Linda Bracy Gray was born September 26, 1950 in Flora, Mississippi, the daughter of Ossie and Alice Bracy, and moved to Flint in 1953. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age, uniting with the True Light Missionary Baptist Church and moving on to the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, where she served in the Junior Usher Board and choir. She was also a graduate of Flint Central High School. Linda moved to Long Beach, CA in 1980, where she united with the Love and Unity Church of Compton, CA. She was a founding and faithful member of New City Church, where she worked with the Praise Team, served as soloist, and led a bible study group in her home. After receiving her degree in counseling, Linda worked as a counselor for Woman To Woman in Long Beach, retiring in 2005. She was also an actress and very powerful soloist. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: mother, Alice Bracy of Flint; husband, James Gray, Jr.; 4 daughters, Uthanna Bracy, Julayah, Whittney, and Brittany Casey; 2 sons, Lindsey Casey, all of Long Beach, CA, and Rashad (Kitty) Bracy of Baton Rouge, LA; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Zella Mae, Vincent, Janice, and Kent Bracy, all of Flint, and Wendy (John) Underwood of Bakersfield, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins including Louise Clark, James (Irene) Bracy, Deborah (Leroy) Battle, Carolyn (Robert) Straham, and Rena (Lonnie) Sawyer, all of Flint, other relatives and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Ossie Bracy; sister, Juliet Bracy-Craig; grandmothers, Ozella Harris and Everlena Thompson; uncle and aunt, Julius and Estella Bracy.
