Mrs. Lessie Leola Moore

MOORE, Mrs. Lessie L. - Age 87, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Family First Church, 4510 S. Dort Hwy., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Vanessa Pringle, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Saturday. Mrs. Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mother Lessie Moore age 87, was born March 3, 1937 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of Lawrence and Leona (Stocker) McLemore. She gave her life to the Lord over 27 years ago when her son, Larry A. Holley founded Abundant Life Ministries, Int’l. Mother Moore, lovingly referred to as “Grandma Moore” was a dedicated member of Family First Outreach (formerly Abundant Life Ministries, Int’l. in Flint, Michigan, where she served faithfully for many years as a Greeter. Mother Moore retired from Hurley Medical Center after working for approximately 30 years. She began her career in 1970 in the Dietary Unit of the hospital. Mother Moore ended her career in Sterile Processing. In her free time, Mother Moore loved playing cards. Her favorite games included: Bid Whist and Spades. She also enjoyed watching basketball for years. Mother Moore was an avid fan of the Detroit Pistons Basketball Team. Win or lose, she would always root for them. Mother Moore loved her family and church family. She would always say, “I just love my family and my church family and I pray for everyone!” Mother Moore was so excited when her grandchildren were born and even more excited when her great-grandchildren were born. Mother Lessie Moore leaves to cherish her memory: 5 children, Terry Holley of Flint, Larry (Carleen) Holley of Grand Blanc, MI, Kenneth Holley, William Holley and Brian Holley, all of Flint; 3 granddaughters, Treasure Holley, Angel Holley, both of Grand Blanc, MI and Destiny (CJ) Hooker of Davison, MI; grandson, Shamir Devoe Johnson of Cleveland, OH; 2 great-grandchildren, Milani and Londyn Hooker, both of Davison, MI; 3 sisters, Ola (Ed) Jones of Dallas, GA, Janet (Wendell) Counts and Clara Echols; brother, Lawrence McLemore, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Gloria Hobbidy. Mother Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Moore; daughter, Valarie Mahone; grandparents; parents, Lawrence and Leona McLemore; 5 brothers, JC and Carey McLemore, RD Balknight, Charlie Blackwell and Leo Hardy; 3 sisters, Hazel Anderson, Mayola Lane and Artie McLemore. The family would like to express special thanks to Family First Outreach, Pastor Dianna Johnson, Pastor Kimmie and Lorine Montgomery of Masters Touch Christian Outreach Center, Terri Price and Toy Pridegon of Victorious Word Church, Marie Haywood, Venita Dudley, Stephanie Jones and Levoid Price.
