LOVE, Mr. Lawrence E. "Shane Boodie" - Age 65, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, September 23, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd., Flint , MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Friday. Mr. Love will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM -8:00 PM Thursday, with the family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Lawrence E. Love “Shane Boodie” was born June 6, 1951 in Flint, Michigan, the son of John and Elizabeth (Terry) Love. He was educated in the Flint Public Schools. Lawrence retired from General Motors Corporation after 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, Dominoes, Chess and working on cars. Lawrence loved “Mary Jane” in his “Rick James” voice, music, dancing and dressing. Mr. Lawrence E. Love leaves to cherish his memory: devoted wife of 44 years, Julia Love; 2 daughters, Kadija (Dane) Wicker-Moore and May (Antwan) Howell, all of Flint; son, Citron Stovall of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, LaTrail Burnett, Dyaneka and Tamia Stovall, Joslynn and Marius McMillion, LaDasia Collins, Aria Moore, Akra Howell, Antwan Howell, Jr., and Cikiyah Sturgeon; great-grandchildren, London, Isaac, Violet and Jaela Rose; 2 sisters, Emma Lee Bell and Cynthia Love-Woodfork; 2 brothers, Jimmy (Gloria) Love of Flint and Thomas (Clevetta) Houston-El of Georgia; 3 aunts, Lina Hall, Pastor Barbara Bettis, and Sussie Mae Brown; uncle, Henry Love; mother-in-law, Ruby Williams; sister-in-law, Cheryl Wicker; 4 brothers-in-law, Curtis (Yolanda), Donald Ray, Clifton Wicker, and Floyd Lavender; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, best friend of 45 years, Requille Person-Brown, god-daughter, Anraletta Christensen, Sheeka Hightower, and favorite nephew, Johnnie Person. Mr. Love was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence E. Willis; parents, John and Elizabeth Love; siblings, John Jr., Alice and Faye; special cousin, Paul Jones.
