Lavonna Huddleston

HUDDLESTON, Ms. Lavonna - Age 43, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Church Without Walls, 6206 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Elder Martez Warren officiating. Interment Crestwood Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Ms. Huddleston will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1-8p.m. Friday. Ms. LaVonna Lynn Huddleston was born August 8, 1967 to Lee Voyn and Mary Huddleston. LaVonna attended various churches in the Flint area: New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, Freedom Temple Ministries, Refuge Temple and was a current member of Church Without Walls. LaVonna was very excited to lead the “12 Step Recovery Program” at her church. LaVonna graduated from Flint Northwestern “Class of 1985”, and then going on to attend Mott Community College where she studied to become a Social Worker. LaVonna worked at Community Mental Health as a Receptionist. Lynn was in the play “God Please Remove The Doors” in May of 2009. She enjoyed going to movies, and playing her games. LaVonna was a leader, She was caring, dependable and a heart warming person. LaVonna was so excited about her accomplishments. Ms. LaVonna L. Huddleston leaves to cherish her memory: beloved son, Blake Christian Huddleston; mother, Mary Huddleston; 2 sisters, Treba M. (Warren) Daniels of Kannapolis, NC and Tracey D. (Roger) Taylor of Detroit, MI; god-sister, Rhonda (Donald) Clark-Moses; 4 nieces, Ebony, Cleone, Whidney, and Jazzman; 3 nephews, Michael, Cecil and Chandler; god-daughter, Mikaylah; aunt, Ann (Major) Coward; 4 uncles, David (Sima) Taylor, James (Brenda) Taylor, Charles Taylor and Edward (Patricia) Taylor; god-mother, Cora Huddleston; cousins, Jimmie and Shirley Davenport; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Felix Hambrick; mentor and friend, Donna Poplar. Ms. LaVonna Huddleston was preceded in death by her father, Lee Voyn Huddleston; grandparents, Pearlie and Annie Huddleston, Eldred and Geneva Taylor; 2 uncles, Charles Johnson and Eldred M. Taylor.
