GRANT, Mrs. Latoya - Age 49, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024, at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, December 21, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM, Pastor Jamonty Washington, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home, 1:30 PM Saturday Ms. Grant will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Ms. LaToya LaChelle Grant was born May 6, 1975 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Madeline (Larry) Brown and Clyde (Lesia) Grant Sr. LaToya was a lifelong resident of Flint. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and attended First Corinthian Baptist Church serving as a Junior Usher. LaToya also was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the Choir and was an Usher. LaToya attended Flint Community Schools. She took pride in her appearance beginning at an early age, paying attention to detail, matching from her earrings down to her shoes. LaToya, being the baby sister, she was spoiled up until her demise. LaToya’s hobbies included singing, shopping, listening to music, cooking and spending time with family especially her grandchildren and dog, Prada whom she loved cuddling with. She kept you laughing, blazing on her family. Her vibrant, sassy and laughter will truly be missed as well as her famous BBQ Chicken and Apple Cheesecake. Ms. LaToya LaChelle Grant leaves to cherish her memory: 4 daughters, Charanisha (Deontae) Cross, Tylisha Sanders, Sky’Kera Grant and Ke’Icelyn Hall; son, Kemonti Hall; step-son, Elijah Hall, all of Flint; 6 grandchildren, Jayvion, JaMarion, Alayah, Koreante, Ke’Asia, A’melah, A’dessah and Damaria, and one on the way; mother, Madeline (Larry) Brown; father, Clyde (Lesia) Grant Sr.; 5 sisters, Seaun, Kalena, RaQuel, Charmell and Kateesha; 2 brothers, Clyde (Faye) Grant Jr. and Jacobie Grant; favorite nieces and nephews, ShaMyia, ShanTyia, Joseph, Jania, Taneika, Diante, Shana and Roderick (Brandee); a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly; 5 aunts, Madoris, Jesse, Charlene, Doris and Oleta; 2 uncles, James (Earlene) and Melshun; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, E.J., Misty, Chenita and Charita. LaToya was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dazzle and Mattie Hawkins, Ned and Marjorie Grant; sisters, Tracy (Sam) Lyles and Tyla (Billie) Williams; aunt, Lela McGinnis; uncles, Dazzle Jr. and Julius Hawkins; step-son, Rakeema Hall Sr.; son-in-law, Vonte Sanders; father of her youngest children, Rakeema Hall Sr.
